I then have to close the MWOPatcher.exe through the task manager and try again. Works after a few tries.
Also, black screen on exit is back.

A couple of thoughts
(1) have you run the repair tool to see if there are corrupted files?

(2) have you also submitted a support ticket? PGI tends to look at these sooner and it also allows them to populate their known issues database.
