. I'm playing on an Asus K55 Laptop with the Intel Integrated HD 4000 graphics card
Are you sure you just have the Intel GPU in there? I have an Asus K55 VJ myself, and while it also has the integrated chip, it also has a GT635M (which only kicks in when a GFX-heavy application is run). It's an ok-ish setup to play games like Civ V, but I wouldn't even try running MWONL on that thing. And I seriously doubt that the integrated graphics could handle MWONL on their own. You might want to check GPUz to see if you don't have a dedicated GPU in that thing - CPUz only detects the Intel-chip on my system.
Current setup:
Asus P5Q-E
Intel Core2Quad 9300 @2.74 GHz
2x2 GB OCZ DDR2
Gigabyte GTX460 OC - further OCed to 745 MHz core and 1900 MHz RAM
Vista 64
Running @1920x1080 with settings in the medium/high range, I'm getting around 35-60 FPS offline and a maximum of around 35 FPS online.
However: With a few Mechs in view and fire being thrown around, my FPS drop into the red quite often (as low as med/high teens). Framerate isn't consistent at all, keeps fluctuating all the time - even in the best of situations.
And I'm getting the occasional "huge freeze" - my system will lock up for up to 30 secs or so just to come back later (sometimes). Since those freezes usually also happen to at least one other guy in my TS group, I'm fairly certain it's not a local problem though.
Tried fiddling with the user created cfg-files, but that more or less just changed the look of the game for me - not the performance.
New system inbound:
Asus Z87 Plus
Intel i5 4670K (Haswell) with Corsair H60
2x4 GB Corsair Vengeance DDR3 1600 CL9
Gigabyte GTX 660 OC
OCZ Vector 128 GB SSD
Seagate Barracuda, 1TB
Win 8 64
But from what I've heard from other players with more modern systems, that probably won't fix the stutters/erratic FPS numbers.
The thing that really bugs me is that before the 12v12 patch, I could play the game on high/max setting without any trouble. As it is now, it's pretty much a huge lagfest for me.
And the solution to that would be so easy: Simply offer the ability to choose between 8v8 and 12v12 matches. It's basically what I do when I play TF2 or other shooters: I simply avoid any "modded" servers that run more than the standard max number of players.
