How about some armor that can slowly regenerate over time? The tech could be tiny nanobots slowly repair your armor over time. But could come at a cost of like say reduced damage reduction or perhaps more slots used then FF. Just a Idea.

The short answer. No.

The longer answer. I want a game that is more of a sim and less of a first person shooter. The regenerating healing you find in games like call of duty or Halo are there to speed the game up. Rarely do they make sense, like using a heart attack defibrillator to fix gunshot wounds.

It makes no sense, so I don't want it.

No, just no. Its not even battle tech related..... Now portable repair bays that slap new armor on are.... but need to be limited use like in MW4 (they don't even repair internal dmg, making weapons that should have a slight chance of pinning armor (ppcs, machine guns, srms) dangous all the time.....

I like that damage in this game is so permanent. If we screw up in the start of the match, we have to deal with it for the rest of the game. This is in stark contrast to games with regeneration/respawns, where mistakes are merely a temporary set back.

I think that health-go-up mechanics are the think I'd like to see LEAST in MW:O.

Just my $0.015.

Could just be armor related so it can't repair internal damage just the armor itself but once the armor is fully gone it is gone but it can be a slow repair rate nothing major fast. But I also like the repair bays idea. I like MW4 alot this feature was cool.

Yes portable repair bays...

How about Health Powerups! Little Armor icons that you could run over and get extra armor! Ammo boxes that refill your guns!

You can't buff out a PPC hit, repairing a mechs armor is going to take a team days or weeks to do. The idea that you can run into an automated bay containing a wizard and a magic wand turns this game into a 3rd person shooter...

I'm with the concensus. Aside from the lore not supporting it (except the viscous goo on clan dropships), it promotes turtling and reduces the signature brawling that happens up close. MW combat is based on its 3 ranges, short, medium and long, with combat being a losing proposition. Every engagement is a deliberate and quantifiable loss of resources. Using cover should be a tactical decision to reduce damage, or force the opponent to expend ordnance; not to gain strength.

Oh yeah! Then we could have powerups too! And strafing! And all the other things that will turn this into another CoD clone.

I will say a big fat NO!!!! To the regenerating armor idea.

I would support, however, something like the mobile field bases or just repair gantries (destructable, so lights can sneak across and nuke the repair bays) that can slap armor on, reload guns, but do nothing for damaged internals.

But that would imply a base area, so supporting turrets, tanks, dropships.... oh yeah, getting way to complex for MWO.

No repairs then.

How does this have anything to do with powerups it was about Regenerative Armor that can -Slowly- repair itself not your systems or structual integrity of your mech just the armor itself when your out of combat. I didn't say give me a instant heal or slam me a repair bay for a instant heal. But i've been corrected it is not Battletech tech so nevermind it was just a idea for a new kind of armor.

People take this idea pretty seriously. Don't let the harsh responses get to you.

Battletech armor is ablative which means that when it gets hit by a weapon the armor is disperses the kinetic or thermal energy by shattering or evaporating. So, there's no way it could regenerate.

Just.....no.

Battletech is supposed to have a gritty feel to it, not be all clean and pretty like Star Trek.
