Never made any sense how the flamer is essentially a small laser with a spewing smoke animation while the MG's are SRM-like in spread the moment they leave the barrel.
Please swap them devs. MG's should be pinpoint convergence and flamers be cone.

Not sure what you're talking about. Flamers pretty soak the entire mech with damage.

They dont. Go to training grounds and look where your aimpoint is and see the target info display. You will see only the section you are aiming at is lighting up.
In contrast, MG fire at any range hits multiple armor locations.

The flamer's main purpose is generating heat on the target mech not inflicting damage. In my suggestion yes, the damage from the flamer would be spread out..its like an LBX10 round or the current MG cone of fire.
