You know this has me curious. We get these in October, those who don't won't be able to get the Battlemaster until around January-ish.

We know we get the Victor in July.
We get the Flea soon-ish (august?)
We get blank in September.
At some point we get the Orion.
So... What fills the gap?

But we have a gap of a medium as well as the assault. Really we even have the gap of another light as I don't think the Phoenix pack counts as the light, medium and assault that go with the Orion.

Russ said "We hired more people to churn out 2 mechs at a time." The Flea completes this cycle.

Phoenix is a different cycle.

Orion is part of a blank cycle that requires a light, medium, and assault to go with it.

Another 100 tonner that looks nothing like an Atlas, especially a hero chassis, and I would put PGI in my will! :)

King Crab fits the bill, and pretty much makes Ac40 Jagers pee themselves.

Whatever fills the gap in octobor, i know overlord bear will be playing with his Battlemaster.. :)

Operation phoenix will create some good diversity on the battlefield for a few months where there are players with the package and players who are using the sept/october released mechs. Really think we will see some interestingly mixed teams.

Hopefully MM and ELO will be working better then...

For the Medium mech I'd like to see the Hermes II, and for the Assault I'd like to see the Shogun ^^

Well, PGI you got 720$ from my Friends, Family and me for the Founders Pack bcs it did sound well and we were excited about MWO and the road it would take.

You got around 150$ when i thought the game was finally heading into a good direction again (a week later ECM had its impact).

Now, you get 80$ for Phoenix bcs i am stubborn and optimistic and do not want to give up on MWO.

Its your turn PGI !

July: Victor

October: Locust
November: Shadow Hawk
December: Thunderbolt
January: Battlemaster

The Flea and Orion might change places, but there's no gap.

I would like to support MWO, I was huge fan of old MechWarrior games (MW3 is still the best), but... PGI is constantly doing one game design/balance mistake after another (from my perspective), so I really doubt I want to give money to incompetent developers. I don't want to adopt to new cheezy meta after every main monthly patch, I don't want to pay 40$ our of 80$ for nothing: Locust LCT-1V will be useless, Thunderbolts will suffer alike Awesomes. My answer so far is no, thanks, lets fanatics fund that utter bag of bugs.

While I disagree with your assessment, have you thought about the fact that if MWO fails there will never be another MechWarrior? If they are successful then sequels are possible.

How did you come to the conclusion there will never be another mechwarrior if this one fails? I myself think if it did fail that another company would pick up the torch down the road in the same way PGI picked it up.

At any rate I am still mulling over getting it I only wish I could get a gander at their proposed 3pv before pulling the trigger. As it is the test for it wont roll out till after the deadline, kinda convenient there.

To be honest, this game has improved a lot since closed beta. I remember when I was crashing every other game; when I couldn't connect to a game, the godawful yellow screen, etc. etc. The pace of development is slower than I expected, true, but the game is hardly an "utter bag of bugs."

By the way, I got me an overlord package. Thanks for the great deal PGI/IGP. <_<

Simply ? Yes ! The Hunchback's gun is IN the right torso and is HUGE.. The missile barrel on the Thunderbolt is above the chest area. I wonder what kind of advantage would warrant taking a death trap like a Timberwolf (which should have a hardwired XL engine if the side torsos are jutting several feel above the cover the mech is hiding behind ?

It is not IN the chest. It sits on the shoulder. The difference between the Shadow Hawk and the Hunchback in terms of the guns on the shoulders is that the Hunchbacks gun is more pronounced because of the shell.

That gun is on the side of the head.

Oh really? MW4 was a great success, and yet it took 10 years for the torch to be picked up again. How many video games that have flopped that you know of have had an awesome squeal?

If the game flops then the mindset of the would be publishers is: "The last one failed miserably, why would the next be any different?"

Lights so far:

Commando - Raven - Jenner - Spider - and soon to be Flea (5)

Mediums so far:

Cicada, Black Jack, Centurion, Trebuchet, Hunchback (5)

Heavies so far:

Dragon, Quickdraw, JagerMech, Catapult, Cataphract, and soon to be Orion (6)

Assaults so far:

Awesome, Stalker, Highlander, Atlas, and soon to be Victor (5)

So yea, we either need 1 more Light, Medium, Assault or the Orion is coming out much later if they do the IIC variants.

Hey Viper,
I believe that just the 'early bird' part of the sale ends on July 25th, ie the 30 days extra premium. I haven't seen anything to indicate that the Phoenix promotion as a whole will be ending then as well, although I could have missed it. So if you're looking to wait, I believe you still have some time. <_<

I think the reason Mech 4 was a success is it had an offline mode as well as online. This game has no offline and as far as I can tell never plans on it. That to me is its folly and why all the other mechwarrior games were successful. Look at Star Citizen, they know people want to play single player and also play in a multiplayer universe, so they are doing both in their game.

If this game fails it will be because of the poor PR of the developers, not the game.

Ah good spot, looking at it again I see that you get the 30 day extra. Thanks for pointing that to me, I saw it but it did not register.

The gap is that there is 1 more Heavy mech vs. the others. Planned or announced that is.
