No Patch Today?

10am PDT came and went. The special on 3 days of Premium Time has ended. I see no patch nor any patch notes.
Am I mistaken in believing a patch was due today...?

That's how they communicate.
No matter that the June Creative Director's Update said that Sarah's Jenner would be here on the 25th. Today.

And I guess I'm just in the habit of 'one sale or tournament ends, some new thing happens'.
Sad panda.

Bet they won't bother to explain that either.

I know you're not that new here!
Been that way for months now.
Yup, many months ago they set the "2 patches a month" format because it takes hours to make each patch and then test it, so they can save significant time and reduce the risks of patch-errors be doing them once every two weeks instead of every week. Every time you patch, you open the client up and risk injecting a mistake, so patching half-as-often will mean a total reduction in failed patches, and the increased time given to each patch reduces the chances of each individual patch being corrupt.

1) If you have a tendency to miss deadlines, push things back and run into roadblocks, players TEND to forgive and understand if you explain WHY to them, and communicate changes and issues with them regularly.
2) If you MAKE your deadlines, and produce things quickly and with good quality, most players DON'T CARE about good communication and constant updates.
3) If you fulfill your development promises, meet deadlines AND blow communication out of the water, players often think you are GODLY and fall in love with your development studio, talking to all their friends about how awesome you are.
4) If you can't meet your deadlines, push things back, go back on promises you've made AND communicate either not at all, very little, without directly responding or via a little-used, alternate method, players will HATE YOU.
I wonder which scenario PGI would actually like to see? So far...feels like they don't really care, and option 4 is totally okay with them as long as new players they haven't managed to disappoint keep showing up, spend a bit, and move on.

Park, I think you misread.
They were saying that the use of Twitter and social media INSTEAD of the Forums has been commonplace for announcing important things, or changes, or failures to meet deadlines. THAT is what they were referring to.
Saying that they've been on a 'two-patch-a-month' schedule is also useless, because in the June Creative Director post they specifically talked about having an EXTRA patch today JUST for Sarah's 'Mech.
I understand that things get pushed back, but don't try and argue that there was no plan for another patch in the first place.
Pics. So it DID happen.
