The Cronus

It does not have three variants that would fit right off the bat. Given the nature of this mechs roots though, a third variant could easily be dreamed / cooked up.

Plus I would love to see what they would do with the models / concept art.

The Cronus doesn't have enough of the stuff implemented in the current timeline to be used (ER meds, ER small, etc.).

Only if the hero variant of it has a pirate motif, complete with skull and crossbones hat, eyepatch, and parrot on the shoulder.

Also a Flying Spaghetti Monster and a bittorrent logo.

Cronus would not work since it has only one usable variant (the others are post-Clan; one is Jihad-era).

Bushwacker is another good option that won't be available for a while yet.

The Dervish seems like the best not-Unseen option, but the Shadowhawk is my personal preference.

I used to have a modified Griffin when i played the table top game. I think i had modified it modified with an Xl engine which allowed max armour, double heat sinks, Jump jets, 1 ppc and three med lasers.
It kicked *** if memory serves, even before the clan tech upgrade.

I am a big fan of the bushwacker...which obviously isn't around for like...3-4 more years in the timeline. (It technically is, but difficulties prevent it from being completed until a Mad Dog clan mech is salvaged and reverse engineered)

It's actually rather hard not to have fun with a 55-tonner. The exceptions pretty much being the Kintaro and the Hoplite.

Quite similar to Quickdraw and Trebushet.

55 tons is a hard bracket. The most popular mechs of this category (Griffin, Shadow Hawk and Wolverinae) are unseen.
Other well-known are clan mechs (Ryoken, Black Lanner) or out of timeline (Bushwacker, Wraith).
Also there are some extremely old and rare designs (Gladiator, Kintaro, Lynx, Hoplite).

In respect that, Dervish is the only real candidate. But even Flea is announced, so you never know if Pirahna would like to re-energise one of those SL-era things like Lynx or Hoplite.

Yea, the popular mechs that are not unseen are the Kintaro, Hoplite, Dervish. And within our time line with enough variants.

I'll pick on the Shadowhawk for my example.
It has:
1xAutocannon/5
1xLRM-5
1xSRM-2
1xMedium Laser

It'd be stripped of everything and replaced with a PPC and Gauss or AC/20.

We, and I include myself, are in love with the look of the mech not the loadout.

Shadowhawk - Shadowhawk - Shadowhawk

Why? Because it was the first Mech I ever played TT with and my alltime favorite besides the crusader.

Plus, I even liked the crappy Davion version even though it had hardly any armor.

The loadout is actually quite good on the real (read Marik) version, the 5M.

You make a tweak or two and you have a killer even in the game.

I had a 6" toy given to me by my aunt for Christmas in 1982, I was 9... It was Griffin with interchangeable parts, made the 1N and 3N variants... didn't know it then, been playing TT since 1987-8ish, I think... yea... either way, unseen or reseen or whatever, I want them... awesome and well... censors here so... more awesome!!

Probably it was an original Dougram toy "Roundfacer" combat armor, which was a prototype for Griffin battlemech.

Intresting mech. Though I'm sure most of the players will turn it into just another 3x ppc poptart it looks kinda cool and different to the current mechs.
