I started playing again a few days ago and so i activated the free 24 hours premium, i started out using a trial mech, where i kept getting 400-700k each round depending on Win/Loss and assists.

After a few hours i had my 10.4 million i needed to buy Atlas AS7, after that i started getting only around 25-100k each fight with premium, the experience points is still the same.

You are no longer receiving the cadet bonus which gets you extra income for your first 25 matches to help you buy your first mech.

1. Your larger you take WAY more damage. Repair is going to be larger.
2. You no longer are getting your cadet bonus cbills.
3. No way you were making 400-700k with a TRIAL. They infact give 25% less cbills.

Recheck your numbers, take a picture, and try again. Not calling you a liar but your information is not possible.

For your first 25 games, you have what's called the cadet bonus, which is ideally supposed to give a new player enough money for their first mech. After that, you're grinding with the rest of us scrubs.

Some advice on earning: you can get extra cash from various actions, including kills, spotting for friendly lrms, assisting with kills, etc. Try and deal as much damage as possible, and help your teammates to get a better paycheck.

Well as i said i'm no longer getting that amount so it's not possible to take a screenshot, but yes i did receive 700k in one round, where i was lucky enough to get last hit on 6 mechs and assists, im guessing that's why i got so much in that round.

How much does the cadet bonus add do you know ?

Probably also worth mentioning that if you haven't played since February or so (based on your join date) that C-bill rewards have also generally been adjusted downward. Cadet bonus is about 8 million or so extra over those 25 games.

A total of 7,800,000 something. Divided into 25 games and injected into your "pay" as a Stimulus Package.

Well i don't mind that i guess it's a way to prevent new players from getting elite upgrades to fast.

However that also means that i'm now tied to the Atlas series, if i want any hope of getting the elite upgrades anytime soon for the variant.

I guess i could make a new account when my premium runs out and choose another type of mech.

You can save money by moving engines back and forth between your mechs, if they'll fit. That's the most expensive upgrade. I wouldn't sweat the cbills. Over a month I got way more than 50 Million just based on what I've bought (4 mechs, 3 XL engines, 3 modules, a bunch of double heat sink upgrades, and a bunch more weapons).
Spotting assists are about 1000 each. 10 spotting assists in one match? Ka-ching, 10K just for that. Blow off a mech's arm? Component damage Ka-ching. Etc.
You'll have enough for a set of Atlases in a couple of weeks.

The way the devs talk, in fact I think it is in the last dev update thread, is that "new players should be able to buy a new medium and update it" with cadet bonus.

So, IMO, the intention is for new players to buy a medium and upgrade it, or a heavy and then save a bit to upgrade it.

Of course, as per the norm, this is written out or suggested absolutely NOWHERE in the game itself. By ponying up for that atlas, you have indeed made it so you are committed to the series for elite, unless your first savings go to a new smaller mech. In fact, I would even suggest this. A new Atlas is another what, 9 MILLION c-bills, at 50k a match, you will be at it so long you will grow to hate the game.

I recomend saving a few million, which is still a long while to do, and then buying something smaller, different. Then, while you play, when you are sort of getting bored with it, you can play your hulking atlas for a while.

That way you can have a little variety while you are farming the c-bills. man I hate that term, and until recently I didnt actually feel it fit with MWO. But the adjustments have indeed made it feel pretty grindy now to aquire new stompy robots.

Bottom line, hang in there. As others say, money will show up, and the game really gets more enjoyable the more mechs you have to romp around. It sort of snowballs, and money gets easier once you have some mechs with 8/8 basics unocked and DHS etc upgraded. Just takes an initial push to get there.

You're information is wildly out of date. There is no repair and rearm. It was removed LAST YEAR. You're 25% less cbills comment is also confusing. There is no such rule.

You need to check your information before giving new players advice.

Trials used to cut 75% of C-bills and 100% of xp.

The cadet bonus is an average of 320,000 CBills extra per match for the first 25 matches (total of just under 8m Cbills). However I seem to recall that it started bigger than this and then gradually declined until it was zero in match 26 and onwards. During those 25 matches, a new player may earn between 1m CBills and 3m CBills in actual earnings from in-game activities (not including premium time - which gives you a 50% boost in earnings).

An average match is roughly 10 minutes, which means six an hour - I reckon that's 300k-1m CBills an hour (450k-1.5m with premium time). Your ability to farm CBills will depend on how you play. Maximise kill assists and savior kills in assault mode will do you good.

Note that the cost of Double heat sinks (1.5m), Endo Steel (10,000 per tonne of chassis), Ferro Fibrous armour, XL Engines and new weapons needs to be added to the basic cost of the 'Mech chassis. Because ES and FF and XL engines are more useful for light 'Mechs - and not always required for Heavies and Assaults, an Assault 'Mech can represent a bargain.

A fully upgraded Jenner with 300XL, DHS, Endo Steel and Ferro Fibrous armour is over 10m CBills. A Stalker with a standard engine, and double heat sinks is around the same cost.

I personally wouldn't - the Atlas is still one of my most favorite Mechs. It has 3 very good variants which are very nice to have and can fulfil many different roles on the battlefield. You don't need all of the "elite upgrades" for them either, Double Heat Sinks and Endo Structure are all you need (maybe Artemis if you want to use LRM's). The Atlas doesn't come in cheap in the first place but it's worth every dime. You will also get a lot of weapon systems which you can use for other Mechs later on. Just don't buy the K variant :D
