My first Mech-game was MW2. And I liked that huge amount of messages the mech-computer was telling you. At startup you got information like name of planet, atmospheric temperature, local time etc.
When i first played mw3, I excpected similarly amount of information, but we got just "Reactor online, sensors online, weapons online, all systems nominal... enemy power-up detected... That's it!!
In MW2 we even got messages like "point 2 attacking your target", well that has been exchanged through lance-mate-voice-messages, but in mwo that's not possible because singleplayer-story doesn't exist.
I would like to hear more messages from the beautiful computer-voice. Imo it could be a little bit more distorted to sound like a real computer-voice like in mw2.
What about:
"Powering up... Welcome, Commander!
Planet: (for example) Solaris VII
Ambient Temperature 45 point six zero degrees celsius, heat sinks performing with 73 percent
Local time is May, 25th 19, 45 GST (and here we could add the real time in hours and minutes just to make it less worthless, and yes, I know that there could be more than 24h onto a planet)
In most cases we got enough time until first enemy contact to let the beautiful voice run down that list of information.
At the moment we got 2 lances and we could assign characters to any player. What would be about:
"Unit B is captureing enemy base/nav-point Theta"
Conversely: "Enemy is captureing your base/nav-point epsilon"
Most important option should be to configurate the points of information the mech is telling you. I can imagine that some players find it annoying anytime. But for me, it would be a great atmospheric addition!
