Isn't MWO great? Balance is great. Maps are great. Mechs are great. Community is great. Everything is just great! Am I right, or am I right?

Old chum, I've seen these threads before. Be less obvious in your sarcasm and your baiting, and you could be a better troll. C-. See me after class.

If you think I'm trolling, then you don't understand my purpose. See me after you've finished a few more years of school. Anyway. Positive and on message! So hey. Phoenix Project...Isn't that great!

LOL. I was expecting the OP to claim that he was the "Great Cornholio!" and something about TP.

I like this game. I play this game a lot regardless of it's issues. Honestly, this is a great game. I have played bigger budget full retail games far less.

Huge stompy Robots in the BT Universe- tis why I'm still here. (And also why I still consider buying a phoenix package dispute feeling a little burned by Founders..)

Darn right. I've loved large stompy robots since Mechwarrior 2.

MWO is actually awesome, except for the Awesome.

I think players just want the matches to last longer and haven't just, like, asked for that yet. I read all about the horror of convergence and PPCs, but I can't find anything wrong with either.

If you do the math, honestly, PPCs are no more OP than ballistics, but put the two together and matches are too short. So players have a hard time learning what works, how it works because their battle will last 5-10 seconds unless they beat the curve. So mechs need to be tougher, and current problems are mostly solved. Of course you could dig for all sorts of complex problems, but the simplest solution is best here.

That aside MWO is the best game ever. It's what PCs were built to do in my book.

I've played CBT since I was 8.

I have 50+ novels.

I don't give two ***** if it's a nergasm, I love me some stompy robots (and an incredibly immersive universe).

Gameplay's actually pretty legit compared to past iterations, and is trying to do something no game has ever done before: be specifically balanced for PVP. I don't think it's perfect, but I don't regret the money I've spent one bit. I've been waiting a long time.

What I wonder is why people don't just try to have fun and enjoy it for what it is and could be, not what it isn't <_<

By definition if it could be something, it isn't that something.

Yes, the only real standing gripe for me is community warfare... and perhaps the implementation of the "command" tools.. (like icons being way to big to be useful points on the minimap, and the colour blue that they've kept forever that is the worst colour in the world to read, etc)

I'm gonna move this thread to the Barracks, as it's more of a general chat about playing the game rather than a discussion about specific Gameplay Balance elements.

Well...The post got moved. Not jettisoned, but moved. Might still prove my point (A little):

This thread:

http://mwomercs.com/...-following-3pv/

...with a vein of (I would say, not unfounded) cynicism, gets jettisoned, while this very thread does not (Though it did get moved).

I suspect if someone did some statistical analysis they would find:

Posts with 'constructive*' feedback get jettisoned more often than butt kissing posts full of superficial superlatives

* Constructive is subjective and open to interpretation

"Could be" and "isn't" have different contexts (and would be said with different inflection).

I realize it's the internet, but words can still have nuance.
