It's all canon, and correct as far as BT goes, so says Catalyst the current BT license holder.

The griffin and wolverine are soon to come. But requires a package purchase right now....just enjoy MWO and have fun.
Stop by teamspeak, and join a drop group, always more fun than flying alone.

Welcome to MWO

What the entry (currently) says is, "Houses Davion and Liao field the largest numbers of JagerMechs, with House Davion being particularly fond of the design."
The JagerMech is produced by Kallon Industries at their facility on Wernke/Talon (which has belonged to the FedSuns since 2596), and by Independence Weaponry at their facility on Quentin (which was lost by the FedSuns to the DracCom in 3039).
The JagerMech is primarily a FedSuns design, with the CapCon likely having purchased or captured several over the centuries of conflict with the FedSuns, and the DracCom only recently (relative to MWO's timeframe) beginning to build up their numbers with the capture of Quentin.

I think the most "iconic" Liao mech (until Stealth mechs are invented) is the Cataphract. Basically a desperation build, thrown together from parts left over from other mechs after huge chunks of our manufacturing capabilities were destroyed.
Not sure how "noob friendly" the 'Phract is, but it's actually a pretty solid brawler in MWO.
Edit: The SRM or "Splat"Cat used to actually be a very viable build. When I started playing they were the FOTM. So you're not THAT "derp" over making one.

The standard variant the CRD-3R has 1 LRM 15, 1 Medium laser and 1 machine gun in each arm. 1 SRM 6 in each leg. All of it's ammo of course was safely stored away in 3 caseless torsos.
The special Liao variant the CRD-3L trades the LRM 15s for 10s and the SRM 6s for 4s and adds jump jets. IE greatly reduced damage.
Yes it was an internal ammo explosion waiting to happen. Yes it was designed soley to fly apart as it was breached. Yes it practically has the words Mid Boss emblazoned on it's back.
Still it would be kinda cool to have in game.

In fact, I think I'll start a thread over in general about it.

After the Fourth Succession War, the St. Ives Compact began full production of the BJ-3, sans flawed myomer, as a replacement for the iconic Vindicator.
Supposedly, House Davion then pressured St. Ives, and stole the design like they do with everything good that is Capellan.
When the official list was being constructed with input from the demo teams, I had to compile sources and fight to get a lot of those Mechs included with the Capellan Confederation. At the same time, it seemed like the Federated Suns got whatever they wanted, including the BJ-3. I couldn't do anything about that, but if you see anything that is missing from the Capellan list, I accept responsibility.

Granted, it's not the same as the design originating from within the CapCon, but it is arguably a good starting point for the list you're looking to construct.

no wonder Im better with Blackjack than Victor.
