As much as I like about EVE I lost interest because there was no character interaction other than msg screen. I'd live to see a general area for each faction where we can walk around like a mechwarrior lounge/ bar, interact with other warriors/pilots or walk to our mechbays to buy equipment. Also I love competing against other pilots but sometimes would love solo missions vs the ai I'd love to see
Missions where there is more then xp/c-bill reward like possibly a salvaged weapon that we can use.
I'll have to stop here and collect my thoughts my brain is about shot I know I've got other ideas but can't think of them.

I'm pretty sure that MWO won't ever become EVE, so you're safe there.

But... aren't you pretty much saying that you want "walking in stations" just like the thing EVE is working on, which for a funded game like EVE is still a work in progress with only the solo part implemented?

Salvage weapons... sooo, like salvage wrecks?

You don't want it to become like EVE, but you are pretty much suggestion ideas that sounds a lot like EVE (minus the spaceships). =/

At its heart, MWO is a first person shooter.

At its heart, EVE is a browser excel spreadsheet game.

I don't understand how MWO could ever become EVE.

I wish it could be more like Eve, but be the DUST 514 of Eve...or somehow related. It would be cool to be on the hull of a Titan, magnetic hooks, battling outside of some 0.0 station.

I think I have 5 mil data cores to collect...crap, I think I need to set a skill...brb....

Walking? Please no. I really hate to be "that guy", but I really am just here for 'mechs, not meatbags. And it always degenerates into the meatbags taking center stage. First it'll be walking in the hanger. Then you'll need to use your avatar to do anything. Then it'll be walking on the battlefield. Then, before you know it, you've got power armor that can hijack you, boot you out of your 'mech, and stomp on before you can even yell "bullsh|t". It always happens in space games and I can guarantee it would happen here too.

I'm guessing that you don't actually like EvE at all.

Seriously, I hope the christ the developers don't listen to nonsense like this, and waste time adding in garbage that has nothing to do with the actual game.

If you want to sit and talk to folks in a bar, THEN GO TO A BAR AND TALK TO FOLKS. This is a game about giant robots. PLAY GIANT ROBOTS IN THE GAME ABOUT GIANT ROBOTS.

MWO won't become EVE ... but EVE almost destroyed itself with the focus and development time spent on walking in stations ... which was not desired by the majority of the player base. If MWO starts to spend time adding lounges where the characters can walk around and interact then that would be development effort wasted for 99% of the players involved who are looking to play a mech combat game ... so if MWO goes for the epic FAIL the same way EVE almost did ... I would expect similar results.

As for solo campaigns ... those could be fun if done correctly ... and I suspect many folks would pay for it. Unfortunately, given the small size of the development team at PGI, I suspect this will not be a priority in the forseeable future.

FYI OP, EVE is going to have what you describe where everyone's player avatars can interact on a space station. They also just integrated an FPS part to the game where you can battle on planets with twitch based game-play (on PS3) and people in space (on PC's) can call down support for you.

The DUST 514 integration with EVE is correct but the walking in stations fiasco from a couple of years ago was a real issue that almost killed their cow that was laying the golden eggs. Most folks do not use the captain's quarters in EVE ... and very few are interested in a 3D environment to walk around and see people's avatar's in what is mostly a space sim game. In fact, adding avatar interaction to either EVE or DUST adds very little in terms of content that either group might be interested in ... most DUST folks want an FPS and most EVE people want a space sim.

If adding this interaction actually added content that people were interested in playing that would be different ... but I don't think most EVE or DUST players are interested in SIMS in space ...
