Concept art looks better than I was expecting, I'm really digging the cockpit and the shoulder gun especially. I'm worried that the shoulder gun will introduce all of the problems that the MWLL Hollander II had though, and I doubt the MW:O devs will adjust the armor to compensate for a large hitbox.
The hardpoint loadout seems a little cramped on the one variant they've shown though. Three ballistic hard points in the same location is limiting even for an assault 'mech and the head missile slot only lets you equip one of four missile weapons (ssrm2, srm2, srm4, lrm5). I'm hoping for a better hard point distribution on the remaining variants, because a 55 ton jump-capable 'mech is right up my alley.

I was expecting 2 Energy in the RA, 2 Missile and then 2 Ballastic in the LT but just how big do they think a 55 ton Shadow Hawk is? 3 Ballastics is useless as anything aside form MGs is really too heavy for the mech (i.e. not leaving enough weight left over for other weapons. Also only one Energy? Really? how are you suppose to get any sort of competitive firepower out of this mech.
I mean a 60ton QD can mount 2 ER PPCs, 2 ML and 2 Streaks, has the same speed, greater jump capasity and more armor.
About the best your going to do on the Shadow Hawk is an Ultra AC/5 backed up by a single LL or PPC and 3 Steaks or maybe a single SRM6/LRM10 and then only if you drop in an XL and Endo. A 50 ton Centurion is going to give you more firepower, hell a 35 ton Jenner is going to give you more firepower.
Bad, bad, bad.

It's really not too bad for a hero 'mech. If they made it have killer hardpoints it would be pay-to-win. Hopefully some of the other variants will be alright but remember you get the 30% c-bill bonus and 10% loyalty point bonus when piloting this variant.

It is NOT a hero mech. It is the stock variant -1V with a different look and inherent bonuses on CB and loyalty points. Everyone who does not want to pay for it can just buy a normal -1V with CBs.

It's just one guy doing the concept art and he is absolutely amazing. His name is Alex "flyingdebris" Iglesias and you can check out some more of his work here.

Yeah I wish they made it a unique variant. Being lazy and making the ones with the c-bill/loyalty boost have the same hardpoints as a stock variant just makes sure that the stock variant is bad.

It is only a hero mech in regards to the c-bill bouns and costs real money otherwise it is a stock load out and one I would either avoid or just trying to quickly grind though and then sell it and move on. Unfortunatelly there is usually at least one variant of every mech that fits this catagory.
In the Shadow Hawk's case, they just make the stock hardpoint pitiful when they could have come up with a much more versital configuartion without OPing it. I personally was expecting 1 less Ballastic and 1 more energy which at least give you the option to drop a few low weight energy weapons in it as back up firepower. Unfortunately as it currently is, the weight of ballastic weapons combined with one one energy slot gives you few options to mount any sort of competitive firepower on it.
The problem is for me to spend money on it, I really need it to be something I will be willing to drop with in game. I got a founder Jenner...good mech. I bought a Flame, it is fun and competitive. I bought a Heavy Metal and it rocks (no pun intended). All of those I regularily drop into matches with. The Shadow Hawk "phoenix varaint" just looks like a total bust with its hardpoint configs because I can't see it being competitive with any of the other 50-60 ton mechs in the game.

This is your opinion.I think the hardpoints are just fine and will make for a nicely balanced mech that will be a lot of fun to play.

- SHD-2Hb - The Royal upgrade of the Shadow Hawk changes the role of the 'Mech to a close-range brawler. The weapon systems are replaced with a LB 10-X AC, two Streak SRM-2 and two medium lasers. The heat sinks are doubles and the ammo is protected by CASE. To save weight it uses Endo-Steel chassis and Ferro-Fibrous armor. BV (2.0) = 1354[7]

As it stands, in all likelihood, 2 of those ballistic slots are going to be ignored, outside of troll-builds and newbie frankenmechs. It's still possible to make it serviceable but competitive is another matter.

The Shadow Hawk loadout seems fantastic though, all it really needs is 1 more energy slot...
