Sup forum folks. Quick Q.

Looking at a Hero Mech and I really like med-lights. For the X5 owners out there, and I know there are a ton of you, what do you think of your particular robot and would you recommend that robot to more folks?

Do you all think it's worth 2100MC? What kind of cash do you usually bring in with it? If you had the chance for a full refund, would you take it or are you happy with your purchase?

I'm trying to decide whether or not to jump on the sale and I'm kind of on the fence...

Thanks for your help!

No. Buy an Ilya Muromets.

Alternatively, buy a Jenner.

I love it, but I also love Cicadas in general. If you just like the hardpoints, go for a Jenner. The edge the X-5 has is more tonnage and space for larger missiles and more weapons/armor, but the difference is small enough that I'd be really sure I wanted it before committing.

Back when SRMs damage wasn't driven into the ground, it made for a fun fast 2SRM6 carrier - a build the Jenner isn't capable of. Hopefully those days will return eventually.

It is a very different option if you want to master the 'cada, though. The 3M's got ECM, the 2A and 2B are sort of a tossup, and the 3C is a laughing stock. Sticking with the 3M, 2A, and X-5 as I have give you three unique flavors to play.

Hey, I didn't say it's MLG Pro, but I find it fun.

If you're going for the most competitive builds, forget all the lights except for the 3L and the Jen-K, and best forget mediums entirely.

Honestly, I think the X5 is the best Cicada easily. The Jenner is probably a better mech overall, but the X5 is awesome and tons of fun.

In addition, being a hero it sports a 30% cbill boost. Given how you generally make fewer cbills in lights (and, while technically a medium the Cicada is basically a light) this helps bring your income up to a decent level.

I don't know anyone who bought an X5 and regretted the purchase. It's an awesome ride.

I love my X5, got 2 large lasers, custom paint and a lot of speed.

Lacks jumpjets though.

I thought it really was worth it. But im not a cheap fella so it really is just an "opinion of value".

I got it on an impulse and I really enjoy it. Its as fast as a light but packs more firepower and its not much bigger a targit.

As for loadout I've gone for 4 ML's and 2 streak SRMS.

Now if you just want a hero their are better ones but for the price and the fun value its one of the best

The X5 is my only hero mech and I'm pretty happy with it. Great fun for running around at ridiculous speeds and ruining people's dinner.

The only problem is it's kind of a one-trick pony... there aren't that many valid builds for it unless you swap out the engine for something weaker, which isn't recommended.

With incoming BAP changes X-5 will be very nice (with lame streaks)light hunter.
It's pretty hard to make jenner-D fit streaks, 4 meds, bap, armor, jj, ammo and good engine.
X-5 can do it, well without JJs.

X-5

2xSRM6, 4MLAS, 130km/h+ with speed tweak

It runs on Assault's tears

I'm looking at the X5 for the 30% Cbills.
With the 300XL, 4xML and 2xSRM6's... how much ammo do you need to run?
3/4 tons?

Btw I'ld like to include the BAP as well.
