I just had another total game lockup (In mid jump no less) and had to use the program manager to shut down the game and restart - If the lockups can't be eliminated, then why not have the game allow you to reconnect to a still ongoing match? It locked up within 30 seconds of match start, so I could still have contributed if there was a reconnect option.

When i freeze up i use cntr alt del, it boots me to windows option screen, i choose cancel and it drops me back into the game.

They've already said that they'll be adding this in UI 2.0, whenever that comes out.
