I know you're probably joking (maybe?) but you'd have to be a fool to buy it now.

Why?

I have the money to spare, I've been missing some classic BattleMechs like these, the offer is a great one, and I don't mind further funding development of a game I play just about every day.

Tell me again mr Econ 101 why I am a fool?

He did explain exactly why he thinks it's a bad idea to buy the package now, but you left that out in your quote?

give the extended 4th (+5th for many) holiday in the states, i suspect they will push on the 2nd then delay one of the next two patches a week. but they will definitely want to get the new hero out before the holiday weekend.

Take a look at the shitstorm on the MWO Facebook Site. Now everybody in the gamer scene know about what happened here. Now they have to bring something really BIG or they will lose their face and potential players...

If these guys actually followed through on these threats to leave or stop buying things, then you could actually take them seriously. However, 99% of the time there is zero conviction behind these ultimatums.

I believe what he actually did was make an unfounded assumption that the Package may change between now and then. As that is not likely to be the case, having units already Sold makes that a given, what is the difference, Pay them now and guarantee your Kit, or wait until the 24th, and hope to hell you do not have an ISP outage and miss out entirely.

But much Kudos to those with the brass balls to wait until the bitter end. I wish them the best of luck. (and will LOL wholeheartedly, if they screw themselves out of a really good deal due to a tech glitch on their end)

I thought I explained it pretty well already in the text directly after the part you quoted:

You don't receive what you paid for until October 15th and you still get the early bird bonus of 30 free premium days until July 25th. Meanwhile you are getting more information on a daily basis to make a more informed decision about your purchase.

What benefit do you get by purchasing it now as opposed to ~July 20th (before the early bird bonus expires)? None.

What benefit do you get by purchasing it ~July 20th as opposed to now? The use of your $80.

You may not do anything with that $80, but then again you might have it in high-return investment. Or you might change your mind as you receive new information about the product. Even if you don't have any plans at all for that $80 and it would just sit on a stack on your desk...why would you part with your money earlier than you had to? Also, since you are getting more information about your purchase every day as they release information about the new variants the quality of your decision-making will rise. Right now we don't have a clue what Loyalty Points are used for...that is a very important bit of info when deciding to buy 'mechs that give you a 10% bonus.

It's the same reason why getting huge tax returns is really bad even though people love it. That was your money that was tied up all year. You gave the government an interest-free loan essentially.

How is that in any way what I did? I never say the package will change, but the information you have about what is in the package will certainly change.

This is such a completely simple concept that I almost can't believe I'm having to explain it. I underestimate rabid fanaticism it seems.

Given this http://mwomercs.com/...68#entry2484668 and then the actual Page of info the Package it self provides, what "other" information would make any difference, if nothing changes? Your defense of made up BS is heartfelt, but calling out those who bought early as "rabid fanaticism" is utter BS.

And about that high yield saving account you got, what Bank is it with? We all need to get into that one super quick for 3 months, for sure. The 9 cents earned on that $80 invested will change lives.

Simple concept. You do your thing and respect the decisions of others for what they are. They aren't your decision, to either make or trash with BS failed banking logic.

Today we will learn what the Thunderbolt variant is, and tomorrow the Battlemaster. It would also be useful to know what Loyalty Points are used for.

What exactly is made up BS? This is as simple as it gets. When one course of action offers no benefit whatsoever and ties your money up for a month and the other course of action offers no benefit but lets you keep your money for a month, it should be a no-brainer.

You're trolling my position pretty well, but can you come up with a reason as to why you should buy the package before the end of July?

There you go hurting my feelings again. So you want anyone who wanted in early to explain themselves to you? Really? Think again handsome. I will tell this though. The reason I bought in before end of July was because I can. I am all grown up and can make rash, and often times, apparently according to yourself, poor financial decisions with my monies. Or, the wife may **** it away before the end of July as well.

P.S. How many reason did you require we provide you sir. Do you require them be in triplicate form as well for your files... ;(

I shall rally the town! We'll be waiting, on tuesday, with pitchforks and torches. If there is a patch, we'll be burning you at the stake, op. If there isn't, we'll stand around and complain how we can't just take a PGI staff member and put him on the stake...

~Sigh~

Another 2 weeks waiting for srm buff, F**** MY LIFE.

There will be a patch, it will include no new fixes. It will include new mechs and items to buy with MC. That is all.

That's on the 1st?? I must be all brain-farty, I really thought Canada Day was a whole different month.

Then hopefully the WHOLE patch is ready just about now... cuz there should be many hang-overs in the PGI office when the 2nd rolls around, and all they should try to do is push the big red PATCH button, not actually create anything ;-)

When the celebrate Canada's greatest accomplishment: leading the world in being just north of the US. No one else will ever claim that title. :P

Not entirely sure what to make of this...you seem overly emotionally invested. To be honest I couldn't care less what you do with your money. But nothing changes the fact that the intelligent course of action is to wait. I'm sorry if that hurts your feelings.

LOL what? That would be very convenient, the second patch would be after the end of the current founder v2.0 programm. They should do the reasonable thing and promise wonders for that patch, it might spike the sales...
