So we can pretty much guarantee (if it hasn't been explicitly stated) that the devs have been recycling models and animations for new mechs. You start with the closest design you have, some cosmetic tweaks, and PRESTO, new mech. Good, bad, or indifferent, it allows them to use the limited resources they have to pump out new mechs more quickly (but prolly has some unintended consequences like scaling issues).
Well that got me thinking, because certain mechs have very distinctive gaits or profiles, and that would make them the most likely Adam (pulling a rib maybe) to become a not yet released Eve. Looking at what we already have, there's some pretty consistent trends with the weight classes. Each has a humanoid and a bird-leg, except for mediums.
A pault or phract (or some mix between) would prolly make a nice Timber Wolf. But then I thought about it for a second... Doesn't the Stalker look a hell of a lot like a Dire Wolf?
