I'm sorry that they aren't compounding the Trial By Fire sale with other sales for this weekend, but none of us know what's planned for the middle of next week and/or next weekend...

I could not agree more. No sale will make anyone happy.
I pointed out the bright side of this one, the RS is definitely a great purchase especially considering it's cheaper than many heavies at the moment. It took me a few days with high income and 30% cbill bonuses to get the regular Atlas D for a photoshoot with Lordred, and it's cheaper in cbills than the RS. Definitely a time saver. Really is.
Here's to hoping to see UI 2.0, the new Training Grounds, and hopefully a stock mech no-skill-trees match maker for trying out mechs before we buy 'em in the near future!

These could help?
Trial 4x with multiple kills, takes out PPC stalkers, Atlases, and more.
Custom 4x with XL 170 engine as fire support, then brawls to save the day against multiple mechs. NOT a gauss build (zomg!)

Sometimes, if you don't have a picture or video to demonstrate your opinion on the matter, I get disappointed. You set the bar too high!
I'm starting to think these Trial by Fire sales are really hindered by the fact you can't bundle them with a free mechbay with purchase.
It would be nice when UI 2.0 addresses this terrible limitation.

I try. Though the screens wouldn't be possible without Lordred following me in his little Camera Commando. We're hoping the Locust has a great cockpit for playing Camera Locust (lol).
When founders came, we got our mechbay and mech but it was done by something outside of the game much like when they change trial mechs so the in-game shop couldn't handle it (least it's what they said.)
UI 2.0 is said to allow bundling of purchases (i.e. mechbay + mech).
*Randomly takes on an ER PPC + Gauss Atlas with 2 MGs, 2 flamers, 2 SRM-6s and an XL engine at point blank.*
(Was repainted in another series of screens.)
Find those here.

every time i see one of these TBF sales i wonder what the marketing department is thinking
i understand you want to bring new players in...but maybe you should try keeping the players who have actually been around awhile... seems like if you have played this game for over 2 months you are a second class citizen

Citizenship was revoked for founders at the end of closed beta. According to Russ, that was for "us". I'm not sure who this is for...PPC and Gauss Rifle manufacturers? I'm still going to play my way. I use the same setup on my atlas that I did in closed beta. However, I really hope CW was worth the wait. I'll play all day in the new battlemaster, but it may be the last of my purchases.
We'll see later, back to consuming.

Definitely, and add to that complaining about sales occurring at the exact same time they always do, on the exact same day of the week, like clockwork, and it kicking you or not letting you get on the site for all of what....5-10 minutes, is beyond silly.
It can't be that hard to remember, make a note

Not just for me personally, it is simply a bad sale, period. I don't need to be in the marketing department to know that. Observe how not even a single "like" was given in the OP. If "dislike" was permitted, the thread woulda been buried under it. If PGI wants to make money then they should re-evaluate their weekly sale (specifically the Trial-by-Fire sale) marketing strategy.
For example--an inclusion of a color to go with the new mech--woulda have gotten them something worthwhile. Right now, this is mostly a wasted effort for those who had spent their time creating the sale.
For example: RiotGames would earn way less money if they don't include skin sale during their weekly champion sale. Most people's mentality can be summed up by "Why should I spend money on things I can get by simply playing?" Add the fact that MWO mech grind is 2-3 times easier than LoL champion grind, people pretty much prefer to earn mechs through C-Bills.

And although yes, they are mechs you can simply unlock after playing a certain amount of time, I would imagine these kinds of sales are very beneficial to the people who have other things to do than commit all of their free time to winning money and unlocking perks. That way if they dont mind spending a little money that they make from work, they can avoid the grind a little bit and enjoy the game in whatever mech they want to.
