Hey all,
Lately I am finding more and more my light/mediums are getting one shotted by PPC/Gauss snipers. I don't think it should be possible for any one mech to get one shotted from full health in this game - it really kills the fun. At the same time if you get hit by 4 ppcs of course you should feel it.
I wondered if a solution could be for any armor on a section to soak up all damage to that location before it is stripped and damage passes to internals.
EG if I have 19 armor on my spiders RT and get hit by 30 damage from 3 ppcs in one blast, that armor is all gone but none carries over to internals. Later hits to that section damage internals as usual - just the last bit of armor stripped soaks all damage that would have passed to internals for that shot.
I feel like this wouldn't detract enough from ranged direct fire weapons to make them a lot worse, it would actually encourage mixed arms as brawlers would be more helpful in finishing softened targets and it would increase light/medium survivability a lot.

Suggestion: When Armor Is Stripped

The Warhawk should be one of the few mechs capable of such a high alpha. Amongst a short(ish) list of other canon boats.
Lights in the right hands can already be too tough to bring down, as well as medium pilots who get as lucky, I'd rather try addressing the issue through other means at this time.
But then again, anything is still possible at this point.
