So there I was running towards our base, being 50% captured at that time, with one Catapult A1 caping it and an Atlas D-DC on my ***. That Atlas was still in some pretty good shape, while I had already lost the armor of my right torso. Mind you, that right torso of mine has Gauss rifle in it, just waiting to blow half of my CTF-2X to smithereens, so I wasn't very positive about the outcome of that fight.

With some carefully planed manoeuvring my mech around the tops of frozen skyscrapers I eluded getting too much led in my backside from that Atlas and I finally arrived at our home cap point immediately engaging the Catapult A1, however he wasn't offering any resistance, so I figured the Atlas is going to be my main problem. As I turned around there he was, unloading his salves into my poor battered CTF-2X. But as a true veteran I remained calm, pulled my wits together and decided I'm gonna tare that ugly **** apart systematically piece by piece. His weakest spot seemed to be right torso, so I began working on it, slowly chewing at it. Wasn't that long before I saw that right arm fly right off in a glorious explosion of that right torso. There goes one medium laser! By the time that happened the D-DC already had pretty damaged CT, and his demise was at hand! The drama did not stop there. The D-DC pilot spotted my weakened right torso took a shot at it and what I feared the most happened. My gauss rifle blew taking my right arm with it. I lost 2 medium lasers! So both me and the D-DC were left with only one medium laser, brawling it out like two fine ladies hitting each other with their purses. Eventually the D-DC's CT crumbled. I won the fight, but the war was still on.

I turned my focus to the catapult. His CT was out of armor from my initial attack. But the pilot soon realised he wouldn't last till the end of the round on the point so he ran away. I tried to follow him, but I did not want to be foolish enough to get outmanoeuvred. They caped our point to 90% by that point, and if he eluded me while I was chasing and ran back to our cap point he could finish the game, so I settled with a draw. Letting him live to fight another day... That rookie owes me big time... I spared his life.

I will leave this to be my last battle as a Mechwarrior pilot. I have done enough for the Steiner faction and just want to enjoy my hard earned retirement.
