Now, the locust. It's an odd situation. I have fond memories of the locust from TT. And I'm prepared for it may suck completely in MWO. At least, I've tried to prepare for it. But a part of me continues to hope that I'll find a way to make it work. When I played the game, the locust was always the fastest thing on the field with hardly any weapons worth mentioning. Usually, it ran ahead and played spotter for an archer while other direct-fire mechs kept enemies distracted. I plan to try to recreate that experience, and I expect I will be repeatedly destroyed while trying to do so.

I'll just grind out cbills and buy what I want that way. Much cheaper. Premium time is an easy solution to help out with that if I want to spend money.
Heck, if I did drop $80 on this, I wouldn't need the premium time that comes with it, since I'd have no need to buy a new mech for a while.
On the other hand, I'd have dropped $40 if I could pick 2.

If it has a stupid head-missile and nothing on the left arm... at least put a shield there, like the centurion has or something. An energy hardpoint would be better.
Overall, of the 4 Pheonix mech only Battlemaster and possibly the Locust (why no ECM on that one?) seem compelling.
You wanted the SH so baaaad, yet had no idea what it carried? That's the classic SH build, and PGI may add more of a hardpoint to a location than the original build came with, but they don't add them where they aren't or move them.
OT: I would have bought the Overlord package without a second thought if not for other changes that caused me to no longer be willing to spend money on the game at all.

Stupid deal only if you ignore the fact that for that $80 you get $170 worth of stuff, 12 mechs (three of which are UNIQUE, 12 mechbays, camo and paint, 120 days of premium time.. ..not to mention if you dont get the package you will have to wait an additional 3 months just to get the Battlemaster...
Seriously suprised at how many people undervalue this deal...

I want to see Community warfare.
I want to see how the 12 vs 12 does as far as drops and performance.
I want to see if Direct x 11 run especially on my hardware. If it not playable then I would have to do some tweak and replacing on my hardware side and that will cost.
I want to see how fast they will be doing map updates, with canyon they hit it out of the ballpark want to see if they continue the trend.
Final thing I hate the locust it a pen and paper thing once had a battle between 6 friends I brought king crab a coupl ran duall 50 toner the other 3 ran 5 locust each it was bad day for me still give me the ******* thinking what they did to that king crab.

Doubt I'll even patch the client once it all goes live, probably just uninstall so I don't have the urge to play during a weaker moment.

Premium time helps since I only drop 1 to 4 hours a night. The ability to run mechs months before the rest of the population was also a big draw. 9 mech bays usable for other mechs down the road is nice as well. I'm also hoping the medallions will be useful.
Also the fact that I haven't felt the need to buy a new game since I started playing MW:O has left me some disposable income laying around.... wait there was Simcity, but I'm trying to forget that whole experience.
