Well You Can Tell The Only Phoenix Mech Anyone Cares About It The Battlemaster

If there's a patch that really improves the game, I might upgrade a lever or maybe even two at later date.

Still the only two I am really interested in is the T-bolt and BM but only because the poor hardpoint layout. If they would have just put one more energy hardpoint on the arm so I could have paired a set of LLs or MPLs there, I would have been completely sold on it.

False. And here are ten reasons why:
1) Hanse Davion ripped off a Scorpion leg and beat a mech to death with it while piloting his Battlemaster.
2) The name: Battlemaster. It is a master of battle.
3) It kicked my *** the first time I faced one in MW2: 31st Century Combat.
4) It's a reseen battlemech, and I am a mechbay hoarder
5) It was one of the few assault mechs in the original tabletop game and my personal favorite
6) 7 PPC's will more than likely cross the threshold of "law of diminishing returns"
7) Takashi Kurita, Wayne Waco, and the Red Corsair also piloted this mech
8) It's on the cover of The Sword and the Dagger, the second Battletech novel ever published
9) The metagame changes every month, and I have no doubt boat-mechs will be nerfed
10) Alex Iglesias knows how to redesign a mech

What you are saying is everybody that want to buy the phoenix project is here on the forum and they are going to buy the 80 dollars package because all of them only cares about 1 mech. So, phoenix project will be a total failure, since the number of active players at the forum is nowhere near the actual number of players, and also different from the number of players that are going to buy any of those packages. If you want to be better informed about what's coming out of this phoenix project and the opinion on the general public and the buying public, create a pool, rather than creating flawed assumptions.

SWEET JESUS.
That... Has decent armour and speed, and that alpha!
...While I do appreciate horrendous firepower, nothing sucks more than being effectively taken out of the fight in one hit. I spend the majority of a match cowering behind cover as it is. Just knowing there are pathetic degenerate scum out there who would gleefully run that (myself probably included) makes me want to hang up my spurs.

Sorry but just because I don't post thread after thread about my preferred mechs doesn't mean I am not looking forward to them.
I cannot wait for the Locust. It's going to be great fun.
I'm also looking forward to the Shadow Hawk.
I probably won't pilot the other 2.
I might dabble but I doubt I'll go too hard into them. Heavies and Assaults generally don't do it for me.

I would suggest that you remove a ton of armor off the useless left arm, and put a double heat sink onto the right arm.

One DHS ain't gonna make a lick of difference. But that "useless" left arm can still act like a shield (I'm a Centy pilot at heart) and that armor can absorb an Alpha meant for my tender torso. With damage being HALVED when transferred, it is quiet useful, actually.

Your reading way too much into my post. I was just making an observation.
When the Locust came out there were a few thread but they rapidly vanished. When SH came out, alot more threads but still vanished pretty quickly, the T-bolt came and went in a flash. Now we have the BM and the thread don't seem to stop. That and only that is the basis of my observation. I didn't really feel it rated a poll to be honest.

Locust - One of my favorite mechs to pilot is my Spider. I love the speed and being so hard to hit. I'm hoping the Locust will have speed and maneuverability in a tiny package. Even if it won't cause a whole lot of damage it will still be fun and useful to zip in on an Assault with exposed internals and rip it to shreds with machine guns, then zip away before it has a chance to put its reticle on me.
Shadow Hawk - My mechbays are filled mostly with Mediums. The Centurion is the only chassis I've actually Mastered, and I've Elited Trebuchets and working on doing the same with Blackjacks. I've been known to have some crazy matches in my Centurions. I look forward to doing the same in the Shadow Hawk.
Thunderbolt - The hardpoints on it look rather interesting, and while slow heavies aren't really my thing I'm willing to try it out. Been trying to get used to mechs with slower speeds than my Mediums.
Battlemaster - I geeked out upon seeing the Battlemaster listed among the four because of all of them I'd consider it the most iconic. Sure it'll pack a hefty punch but I'm more interested in the fact I'll get to pilot a freaking Battlemaster. As I said above I'm trying to get more used to slower/heavier mechs... and I've got no doubts that the Battlemaster will be worth taking the time to get used to.

Overall, you're right. When I think about the phoenix pack, the BLR would be 75% of the reason I'd buy it. But I haven't decided yet to buy it, because it would come out about the same time as Clan Mechs, and there's a pretty high chance the BLR would be underwhelming compared to them. XL engines that don't break when you lose a side torso and 2 slot DHS? Quitte a massive advantage even if both IS and Clan end up using the same weapons.
