1. Tried deploying it. Says its deployed but no marker on the minimap and no indication that I'm seeing mechs I normally wouldn't. Nothing seems to happen. UAV not consumed in mech lab
2. Tried deploying. Same issue as above but UAV is consumed.

Also it only stays up for a short time, 30-45 seconds depending IIRC.
I don't think the current UAV is worth the hassle. Too high risk for the pilot launching for too short of a flight time, and too small a field of view.

As for usage, yeah, drop it in a brawl and bring the rain! Its also nice for fighting in/around cover, when you KNOW an enemy is there, and can't get info. I can't wait to now get enough GXP for seismic. It should mean every UAV launch is a good one.

As a scout my job is to find the enemy team and make their lives miserable, especially when I'm not firing at them or capping their base. So I get close, find where their high priority mechs are, deploy the UAV, and then match them scream in terror as they cannot escape the onslaught headed their way.
in large maps like Alpine peaks, the UAV drops in performance, but not by much, all you need is to find the proper spot to deploy it so your teammates can have the best vision on the map.
Tourmaline Desert is a map where UAV excels, it is mostly a sniper heavy map, and the UAV will give your team an incredible advantage by revealing the sniper nests long after you have left. Best part about it is that the enemy doesn't know there is a UAV in the air. For all they know you're still popping out every few seconds behind them to tag them for your teammates. It can cause confusion in their ranks sometimes.
If you pair it with Seismic it is an absolutely devastating combination.

The UAV is the friendly marker that floats in the sky when it is launched.
Our missile frenzy against the enemy wasn't as bad as the first time I was on the receiving end of UAV (completely baffled I kept trying all the old tricks to stop LRM homing I was not able to do anything. Shutting down, ECM, away from line of sight, in cover, nothing worked! 5 of our team was wiped out in less than a minute by LRMs).

As to the other discussion, the spider pilots in my group absolutely love the UAV (as do their LRM boating teammates). A sneaky mech with ECM can easily get one up above the enemy team, and they will usually never notice.

saw this on youtube...great vid...searched there before i even tried UAV
only thing about UAV and other consumables i hate is the fact that you have to waste a module slot to upgrade their usefulness...other modules dont require that
unless im wrong...but it does seem the MC versions give a distinct advantage even after pilot tree GXP expenditures
edit: correct me if i'm wrong please...but it looks like the arty and airstrikes require extra module slots for the bonus on accuracy...thats stupid to me

Bonus accuracy usually hurts said modules, but yes it's true.
In terms of coolshot there really isn't a difference between 9x9 and the MC version. Though I bet it'd sell more frequently if you could equip both at the same time.

yeah...its the small stuff that bugs people about p2w...better pilot would win every time...but it should be a level playing field...i've paid into this game but i dont want some small advantage over free to play players
its about fairness i guess

I think if they/will nerf seismic they should buff uav. Say seismic to 200, 100 and uav to 400,200.
