It just struck me, how long do we ACTUALLY have to wait before PGI fixes the biggest gameplay balance issues, boating/ppcs and whatnot...

Will it be tomorrow?
Will it be the next patch (in 2 weeks' time)?

Or will it be 3 months after launch? Which is to say December.

Personally, I'm just finishing the last inkling snot of premium time I have and then I hope to take a nice long 2~9 month hiatus...

I'm guessing tomorrow's patch and the one after that will definitely decide how long that hiatus will be and exactly when will it begin.

So, place your bets. How much faith/hope do you have that tomorrow's patch will make the game playable again?

I have seen anything from them that suggests they think it's the most serious problem.

All I expect in Tuesday's patch is a 4th of July cockpit item, a sale on red white and blue paints, and (at least, I hope) Sarah's Jenner.

Maybe because it's US Independence Day they will also discount UAVs and other surveillance items :)

Air strikes, don't forget freedom inducing airstrikes.

That would be passive aggressive Canadian to a T.

OP, when you take your "2-9 months hiatus", please let that include the forums.

As for the patch; Sarah's Jenner I hope, the new movement code, and the Victor hero.

If it includes the "solution" they outlined I will be surprised. If it does make it in to the patch it won't matter. Case in point, I bought my second HGN last night, the 732. I cheesed it up as much as possible with 3x PPC and a GR. I only have a few matches in it but my KDR is 6.0 right now and my setup will not be impacted by their boating penalties. It is a ridiculous build that just rips stuff apart, plus it has JJ so I will be able to get to sniping positions much easier than other assaults after the movement change.

If it has the movement fixes in it then it will be best patch in months. If the movement fixes work it will be best patch ever.

You really think that? Personally, I see that as reinforcing Highlanders and Phract 3D's as being the best options since they will be able to jump over some of that impassible terrain, and Jenners and Spiders won't even notice (those two mechs are the majority of the lights I see these days.) Mediums...well I don't think much will change there.

Anyway, I voted 'no' on the heat change. We might get more details on what the final system will be, but not the heat changes themselves. At most, PPC's might get a velocity nerf or heat nerf.

Your problem here is assuming that step was meant to fix alpha spam on its own.
