Since this last patch i have been getting a lot of rapid fps changes, i will start at 60fps then rapidly scale down to 15 then back up, back down again and repeats. Regardless of if i am in combat or not. Anybody else having this issue? All other games i play are completely fine. Drivers are all updated, no heat issues or anything

Yeah, missed an Atlas at near blank point range from behind... neither of us moving... originally aiming at his rear CT suddenly found myself shooting passed his left shoulder.
Also had an occasional lag spike where I go from around 50% heat to over 100%... shutting down or blowing up and not an SRM ammo explosion either... just my engine blowing up.

I have a high ping because of my location (around 270-290), so there's nothing I can do about that.
After the recent patch though this started happening; the game runs great for the first couple of minutes the boom! Massive lag spike. I usually run the game at the 40-50 fps then it would fall to like 4-12 fps. Happens every game recently. Clearing the cache and restarting every game doesn't seem to help.
And is there a fix for this? I tried dropping graphics to the lowest possible setting (no AA, effects and everything is set to Low) and it still happens.
By the way (if it matters) my system is Win7 Ult 64 on a Phenom II X6 1055T, 12GB RAM, and a Radeon 7950HD.

I had the same symptoms Saturday. On my comp the issue was the game was causing the video card to switch between 2D and 3D clocks constantly.
Long story short after spending most of the day troubleshooting and running the repair tool I finally uninstalled the game and deleted the directory.
Then I downloaded the newest installer and reinstalled. So far so good...
ETA: the new installer put the game in a different location

Update: The issue appears to be with the EVGA Precision software that allows me to tweak my video card. I close it and the game runs fine.

Yeah, finally logged in after god only knows how long, and the lag is so bad I can't hit the inside wall of a barn.
FPS is more or less steady, but the lag is horrible. My ping is looming around 140 - 170 as usual. Was playable the last time I tried, but now it's unplayable. Guess I'll wait until the next patch again.

Just an update. I fooled around with overclocking my CPU when I stumbled on this. Turns out Enabling "CPU Core Unlocker" and setting all cores active (in BIOS) gets rid of the massive FPS drop for me. Hope this helps anyone else.
