When you go to advanced settings and turn the shadows all the way down they still appear in game. I would like an option to turn them off completely.

Also I have tried e_shadows = 0 in user config and that no longer works.

Please do not force us to see them.

I agree.

While I have ~35 FPS during heavy close combat and maxed out VSync @ 75 in most normal situations, I still want more FPS during those heavy combat situations.

Shadows have always been a huge factor in FPS. This is one of the easiest optimaztions that games can allow for players.

I don't need the option personally, but I don't think the lack of shadows would be an advantage for players in any way (if anything, a disadvantage probably) - so I voted yes to support those with older hardware ;)

I voted no...because I think having clear visibility is always an advantage, especially when others have poor visibility.

High-end system, video options set on medium or low and still low frames. +1

i use shadows to track enemy mechs i can't see, but if people need to be able to turn them off to maintain a decent frame rate, then i think they should be given the option.
