Every successful media produces more of the same type, not less. Will we see elements of reality entertainment creep into various aspects of gameplay? I saw a show yesterday where they turn car repos into a Q&A gameshow. The whole pimp my "X" genre comes to mind as well. Now, am I going to come into my mech hangar after a losing battle and ever see a camera crew hooking up towlines to my jenner if I dumped all my c-bills into it before the battle? Will the mechlab turn into "This Old Mech" DIY show? Will I ever see guys from "Top Shot" or "Sons of Guns" giving loadout advice in the lab? Will the guys from Junkyard Wars help you find better salvage in the field? What fluff will there be?

Any Plans in MWO for spin off potential?

mmmmhhhhmmmm...the idea of eventually incorperating a co-op mission system that would be similar to the campaigns in MW4 and the idea of "extra credit missions" where you can take a mission to kill a certain number of enemy faction mechs for a small reward is scary for you, and you don't like the idea of minigames, but you are suggesting we have reality TV stars give a running commentary in the mechlab?
Suddenly your response in the thread I started asking if there would be any RPG additions to MWO is starting to make sense...
The thought of campaign gameplay along with normal drops is a bad idea, but having a failed rapper "pimping your mech" would be acceptable fluff...
interesting.

+6 for bitter off topic references! Um, MWO takes place on "alternate timeline" so it isn't tied directly to canon. So how do you predict what happens after launch when there are few givens? Hard to formulate the details necessary to produce what you are asking for and not produce glaring inconsistencies with many things. I think the pve parts of it are just silly, given the structure. Why allow some ubern00bergoober to go farm minor mobs on end for hours for the purpose of gaining X to use in PvP? How does that help that player excell in what this is? Regardless the format the Devs have chosen is PVP. -12 for m00t point.

What? No love for a successful troll?
Look, the point I was making is, we all might have our wants for the game, but I really think asking for reality TV show fluff is a little out there...don't you?
NOTE: who said I wanted PVE only? I was thinking more along the lines of a campaign that would be PVP, pit standard enemies like capcon and fedsuns against eachother, each trying to accomplish a different objective. Either way, taco's are delicous, and I am not trying to be bitter, more a mild attempt at humour, and while Sons of Guns is a fun show to watch, I can't quite say I like the idea of Chris yelling through my speakers "IT'S A CANNON!" when I try to install an AC20 in the mechlab

I'm just bored. I don't want to deal with another thread retread or zombie thread apocalypse. This is definately not those. I agree that is about all I can give it too. Granted, it ain't great, but if Paul isn't currently sedated to keep us safe from him, surely he will be drawn out by this and more easily subdued. C'mon, its troll bait... got us didn't it?

I was thinkin maybe a "McKool will pimp your ride"
so we could, like, trick out your mech with cool stuff,
over the top stuff, like big screen stereo stuff, jingle
balls around the cockpit , mood lights, you know.
so you know any media outlets that will pick it up ?

You could do a Real World spinoff...
This is the true story... of seven pilots... picked to fight in the same unit...work together and have their lives taped... to find out what happens... when mechwarriors stop being polite... and start getting real...The Real World
Can a Draconian, Cappellan, Clanner, FedSun, Lyran, Blakist, Marik, and Comstar pilot survive together in the same unit for one month? Find out next week

If it involves Duncan Fisher and/or Jeremy Clarkson, then I'm all for it ^^
