I'm sure that there were other threads on this-before someone smacks me in the face with the search bar, please note I did try looking..

I was wondering if anyone knew, or if they could point me in the right direction about in-game names and call signs. As I am Finity1 in the forums and on my profile, will that also be my character name? Or will I have a chance to have a call sign as well as a character name?

Or will everything just use your current account/profile name (i.e. I'll be Finity1 for everything)?

The way i understand it, yes. Our forum names will be our pilot names in the game.

Forum name is character name in game (same as WoT if you've played it) but you can name your mech.

In the Battletech universe, most Mechwarriors don't have call signs. They are identified by their lance and position in the lance. For example, if you were a member of Iron lance, and the third 'Mech in that lance, you would identify as "Iron Three." Some Mechwarriors do have nicknames that resemble call signs, such as Natasha Kerensky (the Black Widow) or the Bounty Hunter (the Dread Pirate Roberts of Battletech)

As far as MWO is concerned, the name you registered is your pilot name. Make of it what you will.

Officially the name on the forums will be the same name people see in the game. But since its so far from launch theres still a possibility they might change that.

Well, NeonKnight is my Nick, It is my Callsign, and my avatar name in pretty much every online game I play.
