TBH, I usually try to say "lights/fast mechs RTB" because they should have a clue who I'm directing this to.

However, sometimes you must take it upon your slow arse to do it yourself.. even if you are not the optimal choice.

If all you accomplish is getting a toe into the square, to allow for that extra 15 seconds, for others to assist, it is a worthy endeavor for sure. :)

I rarely pilot anything heavier than a Centurion. RTB is part of your JOB as a light/med mech. At the end of the day, if your base is being capped, you get your *** over there and chase people off it. Call for backup if needed. The EXP and dammage rewards that you get from staying engaged with an enemy mech won't amout to much if your team gets capped before you even get a chace to kill something. Also, capping early is basically a waste of a match.

I dont see it as a problem when someone says "RTB" because such information is incredibly useful to me. The only communications that frustrate me come from LRM boats hiding at the back of the field swearing at me because i'm not sticking my neck out to hold locks for them. I find that incredibly rude and obnoxious, especially coming from an Atlas pilot.

PUG teams can be incredibly frustrating, but GOOD COMMUNICATION makes all the difference. We can yell till we are blue in the face, some people will still not get it. They fail to understand the strong Team dynamic of this game, and cant see past W/L (which is basically meanigless in PUG MM) and their match score.

You know...in your case of running a Cent, I don't know. That is kind of debatable about your ideal job requirements. Some might say yea, it is your job to keep lock and some may not. Me, I tend to think of medium pilots being a counter measure to heavy mechs. Honestly that is just a personal opinion. I really think the lite mechs should maintain locks (if you have them on your team) but again, my general preference.
But I agree wholheartedly , its chasing and communication. Period

Yep....most of the time, it should be a lite or a medium as they are the faster mechs on the field but yea...pending your situation, sometimes you gotta do it. I also think that is incredibly good advice to add. Some don't know that by stepping on to your base line stops the timer. Good call!

There was only one enemy mech on there right up until the end, when a second one joined it.
