so what do you call a 9mm pistol in the states then ? a 3/8s pistol?

The states uses both metric and imperial units.

Where is Sarah´s Jenner? Did i miss something? Is it in the Patchnotes and i´m just blind? It was announced in the last Patchnotes for the 25th but this patch was delayed. And now???

Last word was that they are dealing with the lawyer/paperwork part of it.

Kill all the lawyers. Then there is no paperwork...

And as long as they keep Garth away from the servers, it is all good....

To sum up: There is still only one viable weapon in the game. Please fire it slightly less frequently to avoid overheating damage. The rest is all fluff. Pitiful.

Anyone competent doesn't use 6 PPCs. 4 is the sweet spot and it is virtually unaffected.

wait you mean like some of the mechs in the TT game?

you do realize this is an ASSAULT mech... there is a stock heavy with 3 PPCs... I think 95 ton mech with 4 PPC is not a "crazy" build.

besides I watched such a mech get ripped apart by 2 light mechs last night... it was fun

Yeah Star Citizen is getting my Phoenix money as well. I really wanted to help out with this game more but it is fast turning into WOT mech style.

But less balanced.

So, let's assume that an 80 ton mech hits 120% heat with a 300 engine.

0.75 + 0.08 + 0.3 = 1.13 damage every 1.5 seconds.

At 120% heat, I doubt it'll take any mech more than 4.5 seconds to power back up and hit 100%. So that means that these PPC stalkers and the such will take a whopping 3.39 damage to their CT for blasting to 120%.

Man. I'm calling it right now. PPC boating will go extinct with that much damage flying around.

Yeah I wish we would have went Metric in the 70s like they tried. Its a better system all around. Really 5280ft in a mile?

Much sarcasm I sense in this one.

There is a difference between an assault having 4 PPCs in TT and 4 PPCs in MWO. You can't target specific locations with all your shots without a targeting computer.

Well hopefully the PPC heat will still get an increase later, I guess they wanted to see how the critical heat thing went before doing so.

Pretty neat patch.... but it would have me weep tears of joy if. you. just. would. do. some weapons balance changes PGI!
Something, just a hotfix to be changed later, like you did with missiles. Everyone and I really mean everyone has been begging for some PPC nerfs and an SRM buff for months now, c'mon.

Not the worst patch I've seen, but it certainly isn't the big™ patch we heard about, you had better wow the crap out of me on the 16th if you want to sell me the Phoenix pack.

I would say this patch is a HUGE improvent over the last "Hey guys, we are adding the Quickdraw and the Spider Statue and are nerfing the Large Pulse Laser to death! That's it! Have fun guys!" patch.

The overheat punishment is BIG (that's what all the people who responded in the official "we'll intoduce 150% overheat damage" thread wanted) and the height walking fix even more so. This will seriously limit any non JJ mech toting PPC spammers severly on certain maps (Stalkers will find it hard to do "hill peak-a-boo", only Highlanders; Cats and Quickdraws will be sniping from the huge crystals on Tourmaline and the sniping duels we had on Alpine since release are OVER except for the odd Highlander or Quickdraw harrassing behind the lines).
It's just that people always want MOAR!
And the whiners whine about EVERYTHING. Once the game is "perfectly balanced" they will start complaining about the fact that there is not a premium statue for every single mech. How unfair!

Except your obsolete RS was on sale at 50% off. They move old product before selling the upgrades. I got a little tweaked when I converted a bunch of XP to GXP less than 12 hours before a double-XP conversion sale. My tough luck (no refunds) and I learned never to purchase anything prior to a weekend. Not quite the same as your situation, but your RS is not the same as the Champion RS.

Yeah, and this was the very dumb move of PGI. Sorry, must be stated.

I bought the -RS for 18xx MC. Will the Atlas Champion be more expensive. Sure. Had I bought it? Of course.
Will I buy it now?
NO WAY!

I bet, most of people who are willing to spend MC for a standard chassis bought the -RS at the weekend, and sales for the new champion will be abysmal...

P.S::
No word of Srah Mech - sad.
No nerf for PPCs and/or buff of SRM. Weird.

No high hopes for the future... I will wait for the Phoenix package until the next patch.

EDIT: minor corrections.

Why is Bryan the problem? He stopped giving useful answers in the AtDs long ago, but that's not who you should be raging against.

Hint: It's Paul.

Also, the Atlas-RS champion has major POOR TIMING after the Trial by Fire sale.

Wow. These are great big and small changes!

I like every single one of them.
Both the movement and heat changes are going to make a big impact on gameplay. I CAN’T WAIT!!

One question, NO SARAH MECH? :)

Pgi's communication level has dropped to like 2% of what it was just a couple months ago. none of them reply on twitter. we have an interesting NGNG podcast with Russ where he tries to reassure us everything is fine but has no hard facts to back anything up.

it's just sad.

I calculate 72 seconds of time spent at >120% heat required to kill a Stalker with a 280 engine from this new mechanic. I don't think that's significant, unless the formula posted is incorrect.

54/((0.75 + 0.085 + 0.28)/1.5)= 72.65 seconds to eat through 54 damage.
