Forward thrust on jump jets would solve many problems I think.
I like the new movement mechanic but I think it is pretty dumb that Jump Jets only help if you have some forward momentum. The new mechanic slows down mechs, especially heavy and assault mechs, quickly and means jump jets on the Highlander mean you will do one thing... become a pop tart.
Forward momentum would eliminate poptarting and allow jump jets to actually move mechs over obstacles.
I think this would solve several balance issues. It would also be closer to table top which allowed mechs to move up to a maximum distance and it was not limited by the forward movement of the mech prior to activating the jump jets.

2) Jump jet movement control – This is something we flagged internally when first implementing the movement slowdown. We do intend to give jump jets the ability to thrust forward, and we would like to get it in soon, but there is no current ETA.
Great, so they thought about it, implemented the movement penalties, and are still thinking about the fix to what they broke fixing movement.
guess i will go on break again.

I can't seem to find the July creative director update.
I can't seem to find the Command Chair post about why people get special vision in low quality modes... but, yet they did (not sure if they still do).
Feel free to contribute to said gripe.
