I listened to it once and heard no such thing. It's a long podcast so maybe I missed it. I don't think so though.

Not sure about specifics, but at around 22:50 he states Major features launching in 2013.

Oh, 28:40. I get the feeling that we may get part this year but not all.

He's being evasive, but it seems like they hit more snags than anticipated.

12v12 later this month though.

Here's what Russ said, with time indexes. OP may turn out to be right, but he's just guessing.
-CW is dependent on UI 2.0 release ~24:30 min mark
-CW Phase 1 in fall ~28:30
-CW is a solid 2013 feature ~28:30

This is kinda old news - because back on the June 20th Brian said similar, with more detail:
-UI 2.0 is going to test server in August, with four weeks or more playtesting. Release is mid september or later ~4 minute mark
-CW, Training mode, Lobby depend on UI 2.0 (~31 minute mark)

Would the OPs post be more a red herring or a straw-man since the OP infers balance can only be gained through CW?

Well, sure it's sad to wait that long, but if we can be full bore by xmas i think it'll be a good timeline, especially if we can run private matches until then.

A reasonable expectation is that we are still playing the same game with a few new maps and a few more mechs for the foreseeable future.

Your "faction points" for the Phoenix variants are just as useful as pennies.

So, given a finite amount of developers, wouldn't pushing back CW give more time for balance work rather than less? I don't really see the logic in OP's thread title.

We were told something like 90 days after launch.

That was before they designed or coded things. Now they can give dates that aren't entirely fictional.

If you want CW, they need to get UI 2.0 out - as CW depends on it. UI 2.0 is not coming out for 2 months, so CW can't come out until then. That's that.

Quite frankly at this point, if anyone still believes that PGI is going to make their timeline, they are a fool.
