I like the movement changes - in my mediums and heavies. It's near perfect in my Yager. My Stalkers are the MWO morbidly obese now as far as hill climbing ability goes, and i'm actually 100% cool with that.

It means that you need to pay a lot more attention to where you are actually walking and think ahead to where you want to go on a map, rather than pointing your legs somewhere and treating it like autopilot.

The only thing I don't like about it is having to learn movement zones on all the maps again.

It is specifically the motion of the reticule that does it. There needs to be an option to turn it off - meaning that fine, foul the aim, but leave it stable so it doesn't make me hurl.

Yes, the distracting thing is the reticule bouncing all over the place. They should have the bouncing reticule for the purposes of where the shot will fire but make the reticule disappear when you engage your jump jets. That would still allow you to fire while jumping without knowing exactly where the shot will go, and when you turn off the jump jets the reticule would pop back up in its normal spot.

very good idea, that solves the motion sickness issue, reticle shake was always the major factor for me, the cockpit shake has never been a problem for me at all, even the shake via impluse, was never problematic. Issue is the focus point at the center of the screen hopping around like a jumping bean.

What I am asking for effectively is an option to turn the reticule OFF.

It's pretty easy to use software to overlay a cross-hair or even put a clear window sticker in the middle of your screen. I used to have a bunch of those and they are awesome for CS.

This then has the disadvantage that you can't arm-swing very effectively however.

I just want the old crosshairs back :) Changing it didn't solve anything.

the jump jets were once one of the most fun aspects of the game . now they are just agrivating and not fun. How is making the game less fun for everyone a good business model ? a jet engine is a precision machine that does not shake for petes sake ! Fix the jump jets !

I was not aware that you spoke for EVERYONE in the MWO community.

That is unless you meant to say the far minority of players want to be able to abuse the game mechanics, then yes...I think that is about right.

he is using the more forum specific definition of "everyone" <-be warned this link does point down to the deep periphery section of the forums, click at your own risk.

That would do....absolutely nothing. If you can't figure out where your redicle is while jumping (hint, its in the center), you weren't a good sniper in the first place. Hell, using TAG I can pretty much pre-aim all of my lasers. Oh look the target symbol showed up, FIRE ZE LAZERS.

Back in CB or early OB with the yellow screen bug disabling your HUD was the only way to do anything, and I had 0 issues landing nearly all of my shots.

For me JJ are playable again with the cockpit shake gone. Try not to focus on the redicule while jumping and iot should be bearable. Nonetheless if that does not work I would not mind to have an option to make the redicule shake more smooth(eg widening instead of shake) or turned off while JJting. It does not change the gameplay.

just for reference it is either spelled "reticle" or "reticule". i think we are up to like a dozen alternate spellings of the word in this thread already.

Redicule was a (now somewhat ironic) typo - and - most important of all - NOBODY CARES BUT YOU. Nobody cares about all that little crap except for you and other sociopaths.

I had zero aiming issues in the old patches. This is not about aim, this is about them having turned this game into a barf machine for many of us who now can't really enjoy it.

Also - there will always be this thread until the year ends or they fix it. Close this one, I'll open another. Drops off the page, I'll bump it.

i get that you are trying to insult me, but how does me poking fun at the spelling errors on this thread make me a sociopath?

is it because i haven't dedicated every word of my posts to bringing down jump jet shake?

you should pick your targets a little more carefully, because for the most part i think we are on the same side:

i love the slope effects just like i love JJ shake (i am ok with removing any VISUAL effects that might cause discomfort, but leave ALL of the aiming effects). both of these things bring the game more in line with a simulator. as far as i am concerned the last few patches have been winners.

^^from the first page of this thread.

PGI's play testers are their customers, duh. Like most ftp "beta" titles, we pay them to do their work...

According to this: http://www.penny-arc...am-creates-worl, all the playtesting is done by IGP employees, so they can't. :)
