First Idea: King of the Hill
King of the Hill focuses on a single control point at the center of the map, which is neutral and locked at the beginning of the round. Teams must make their way to the control point and capture it when it becomes available. Once the point is captured by a team, their team clock will start a ten minute countdown. If the enemy team manages to capture the point back, their clock will start counting down while the other team’s clock freezes at the time the point was recaptured. A team wins once they own the point and their ten minutes is expired or all enemy forces are down. A variant to this can be. Player has so many drops for BattleMechs he/she can use. "Re-spawns".
Second Idea: Standard Control Point, or Linear Control Point
Standard Control Point, or Linear Control Point, maps play symmetrically. Both teams start with two controlled points, and a central point starts out neutral. The team that captures all control points wins. Control points closer to a team's spawn point are captured more quickly by the enemy team. Again thou if all enemy forces are down then its over as well.
Edit to Standard Control... Just so its clear you can cap other two points to start with you don't need to go down the line to cap the others. So you can have a lance try and to capture the close point near the spawn of enemy team, well before you can try and take the middle neutral point. This would force some to stay back and defend while others try and cap points. This way its like Assault with multiple capture points, but you have to decide to risk going after another point or defend what you have. I think this would make tactics a big factor.
