So in the lore, medium mechs were the most common because they were cheaper to make.

In MWO, the economy is thrown out, so maybe create another economical reason to use them: Cbills earned.

Make medium mechs the best Cbill-earners.

Either nerf current heavy and assault payouts, so that only medium mechs get the current cbill payouts, or...

Double current cbill earnings for medium mechs (and leave others the same).

I bet you'd see a lot more medium mechs on the battlefield. :)

Heeey I like this idea...
Maybe in lieu of R&R have a flat drop fee per chassis (that does not exceed the flat win/loose bonus)?
Then at least when ppl are just farmin up for that new assault they'll run around in something sorta light...

Like a cut for the drop ship to get your mech out there.
Light 10% of your earnings
Medium 20% of your earnings
Heavy 30% of your earnings
Assault 40% of your earnings

Yes, like an increasing cut of your profits based on your weight class. The heavier mechs are more expensive to operate. You still make cbills in an Assault, but you make more in a light or medium. World of Tanks does this and I think it works well to encourage people to play the middle-weight tanks.

Blood Bowl had a concept of Spiralling Expenses where if your team got too good, it stops making money.

Hell no.. my hunchback is pretty deadly and I'm doing a good job of taking on the larger mechs.... I really dont need a bonuse to play them. Lights are the same.

Let's not. Bad idea for a game like this. I don't think the lore applies to artificial engagements such that this game provides. Even still the game development is paid for by in game purhases and the assault class cost the most MC. Why would the developer want to discourage the purchase of it's most lucrative offerings?
