Let me save you some reading. I hate the new movement. I hate the Jump Jet shake and Im not a jump sniper. I hate jumping into a spot and being trapped by the new movement rules. Jump, get stuck, get dead. Got mad and quit playing, embarrassed that I spent so much on a game that I now hate. ... And let me get this straight. They can make a Fusion Engine but cant make a decent foot that holds the ground. ......They can make a Fusion Engine but not a decent Jump Jet......It has Fusion Engine but bogs down going up a 20% slope. Ok as long as I have that straight.

No please don't havok is horrible.
Just imagine mech corpses flying around like in Skyrim and sticking to you like in dark souls. This is horrible beyond any forgiveness.
And yes, I'm currently playing skyrim and there's nothing good about mountain climbing mechanics.

They improve with every patch.
New JJ is better than old ones since it nerfs poptarting and I can deal shaking
New climbing is better than old one since old was absolutely terrible and mechs were actually accelerating while climbing upwards.
They might polish it up a bit and it will be fine.
And yes, we're not in COD, mech piloting is supposed to be tricky

Havok is a pretty good physics engine. The problem with Skyrim and Oblivion was with the models. Mods fixed the models and, lo! the physics worked. I don't think Skyrim used Havok to calculate how climbing worked. Which was/is pretty weird. Jumping on a slope was/is dead weird. It's probably pretty weird trying to jump up a vertical slope without using your hands in real life too.

Well, Im very Glad PGI added these movement impairing effects. A little more Battletech flavor! Also, to add more advantage to us Jump jet users. Also, now a light mech running up and over a hill... has a better chance of getting away from the Atlas in chase almost ready to Alpha him!
I agree that it needs some tweaks to certain small objects... that a Mech should just "HULK SMASH" over or through, but its minor IMHO!

One huge irritation is this change has exacerbated the already existing 'heavy and assault mechs can't step over a five foot high fence' problem...
And now the tiny decorative craters on Tourmaline are deathtraps. When I get a spare hour or two to try to get Tourmaline to come up in the Testing Grounds (since we still, stupidly, can't pick our maps there), I'll get screenshots and coordinates. All I can do now is report that there's at least one crater no deeper than my Catapult's foot that I couldn't get out of once I'd dropped into it. The mech just could not step out of the crater at all. Predictably enough, I was killed in fairly short order.

Yeah, I got caught on a decorative hedge in river city, It's especially fun when the enemy team has a missile lock on you and plenty of boats.
