DO NOT WANT HUNCHBACKS IN THE SAME CLASS AS CATAPHRACTS AND JAGERS!

A 45% slope (ie its gradient) is not the same as a 45 degree slope (the slope that Mechs cannot climb). A 45 degree slope is equivalent to a 100% gradient, while a 45% gradient is only around 24 degrees. Likewise a 60% gradient is ~31 degrees, while a 60 degree slope would be about 173%.

I am definitely holding off on buying the phoenix package to see how this turns out because this really changes the whole game and it is frustrating getting stopped by everything. Now with abrupt stops, it is not fun. Stuck, stuck, stuck.... damn, feels like getting stunned repeatedly in DAOC.
On a side note, my mechs are running hotter and overheating much faster.... unintended bug?
OK, update... playing lights is great... except getting stuck on small obstacles. Adjustment needed but this has really balanced out the game. I take "half" of my complaints back

jenners, assault, and everything in between, it all worked just fine. i had to pay much more attention to the path i was taking and turn around a few times instead of simply going full throttle forward.
minor tweaking aside, i think this was a great change and adds a LOT more to the tactical aspects of this game.

no the issue is that there are players out there who don't want to acknowledge the BETA tag that is slapped on everything so that they can complain about the game not being perfect.
i love changes as long as something is being learned from them. i wish we had MORE of these large game altering changes.

I would agree except they lost that moniker when they started the PTW model.

As it is now any slope over 45 degrees stops a mech. Even if the slope is on a pipe or small rock.
We are in bipedal walking mechs, not tanks rolling along the ground. Any object under 1 meter high should be completely ignored, since your mech could simply step over it.
I like that we can't walk up steep slopes anymore, and it makes you have to think about the terrain and plan your path wisely. The fact that a mech can't even walk over a speed bump right now is ridiculous and the only thing I feel they need to change.

the developers have acknowledged the issue and seem to be actively attacking the issue. they even have a thread dedicated to hunting down rocks and different things that break the system.
