Oh well, this is my last post to this forum. Uninstalling tonight. Been fun guys.

Hope see you soon online: month or two...

It changes nothing. Well, there will be no more "it's a Beta" excuse for PGI defense squad on the forums (they will soon get a great reinforcement of Phoenix buyers fighting their buyer's regret and, correspondingly, PGI critiques) - but then forum wars change nothing too.

I'm interested in UI 2.0, Community Warfare, and a while later Clan Invasion. Better in-game communication. I'm somewhat interested in more different mechs (balance damn Alpha strikes! But why not giving us A or A1 Victor?), much more interested in more maps. I don't care how they call the state of the game, be it Beta, Zeta, Omega, Gold... I'm interested in the actual state of the game, and progress looks somewhat slow and not always in good direction here.

Edit: Their statistics is cagey too - no graph of online numbers, just flashy but not so relevant jabber.

If your signature has anything to do with you enjoying the Mech Assault games, your opinion has no validity here.

Maybe it's only way to keep MWO rolling? Just put yourself in dev's place.

In all fairness, the game overall is in a good state, they best it ever has been... but a lot of people would rather tolerate some bugs and have CW than a bugless game with balancing still needed looking to launch without CW.

The launched OB too early and now they are going to launch the game too early without the metagame. Maybe they will pull CW off in time before they run out of cash... only time will tell.

I mean I still love killing mechs, but I miss fighting in teams and there is no real reason to team up yet.

I find it funny they can still string people along on the hope of CW. I mean I'm sure eventually it will be in, maybe next year, maybe 3 years from now. In the mean time though they are going to suck you dry with promises of it being just in reach and then pushing it back. It's what they have done thus far and I don't see them changing their style.

Also what will CW matter with the game in the current shape that it's in. Unless it brings some sort of revolutionary game mode with it or massive balance changes, you're still going to be playing PPC warrior online, just with some permanence tacked on to it.

I'm not holding my breath.
As i said before: to me it looks like at September 17 MWO would be in the state that would make it OK to go open beta, too bad it has already been started.

Good news, I hope the transition between beta and 1.0 is smooth and delivers some much desired features I've been waiting for (full screen launcher and the return of DX 11!)

I am filled with apprehension. I am afraid that they're pegging down a date when we haven't tested half the game yet - unless random deathmatchs are all we are going to get. I'm sure they feel like they'll have community warfare out and running smooth as an Atlas' skull, but there's a lot that can foul up before the full game is ready to be played. I wish PGI good luck. I just hope we they're not delayed and my corps gets spun up for launch only to wait. I am venturing to guess this is a premature announcement, but hope for the best.

Exactly. I've played a handful of times in the last several months. My time in the game has plummeted. I'm bored and I have no incentive. I can't easily drop with my team or play in CW... both of which are the entire point of the game for me.

I'm not interested in this lone wolf, pointless fighting nonsense. I want what was promised. The game isn't launched until we can drop as teams and fight in community warfare. They can call it "launched" all they want, but it's a farce.

Yes launch is Sept 17th. I want to know what that "means". A simple bullet point criteria of what will be done / their goals? or perhaps they themselves don't even know what will be done. Perhaps it's just whatever they have eventually got around to finishing on that date will be considered launch material.

I'm concerned about these time frames that are being thrown out. Assuming PGI hasn't abandoned their 1:1 time scale:

Large scale clan invasion hits in November. That gives them one month to wrap up pheonix, fix any problems, launch the game into live, and juggle fixes with community warfare and normal game bugs before releasing clan technology. And, honestly, the entire Inner Sphere is focused on the clan invasion at this point. It's not a distant problem or brush war off in a secluded part of space. Everyone is pulling together to fight the Clans. That's to say nothing of UI 2.0 and the fire ant/MASC

To make matters worse, they're officially out of beta at this point. There are no more resets - the customers they get at this point are the make-it-or-break-it crowd. It's saying "here is our finished game. This is what you can expect from us from now on." Granted, some bug fixes and balancing will always occur, but they can't wipe all the factions or reset the map because of a bug at this point. Community warfare is also a massive investment by the players.

So, yes, I am concerned. I think the game is enjoyable as is without rushing to CW or announcing the end of beta. Maps are released regularly and there are already a king's ransom of mechs (and at least 4 more with 4 variants each in October).

If PGI has something up their sleeve to make this all fit together, I'd sure like to know. They might have bitten off more than they can chew on this one :/

EDIT: If it's true that the 1:1 time frame is gone, then that's an extremely good thing. However, I still don't like the idea of releasing CW outside of a beta environment. It just feels... risky.

Check my post on page 4. They have abandoned the 1:1 timeline.

They never made before so complex game restricted by rules. MWO hard to balance due to the TT content, imho.

Maybe cause of cash reasons? Team without publisher's money, as far as I know...

I really hope you know what you're doing releasing on sep 17.

That's five patches to fix everything.

Not to say that I don't think you can eventually get this game fully functional, I just don't think you can do it in that amount of time. The game still has blaring performance and coding problems, weapon balance problems, movement problems, weight and matchmaking problems, server connectivity problems.

The list goes on and on...

PGI, if you release this game incomplete or sub-par, it will substantially hurt your company and the future of the game. If you expect to be able to fix everything in just five patches, you are overly idealistic.

I would love it if you proved me wrong, but...

Prove me wrong.

Very good to hear

But what happens to our mechs currently in our bays?

Also...
Launching this game with the PPC Boating situation...not wise

What ppc boating issue? They already have the heat patch on the 2nd, even though it's done nothing more than make me wait a few more seconds on my 4 er ppc atlas rs

That wasn't the full heat patch. They still haven't added the bonus heat for fast firing energy weapons.
