Read some of the Stickied threads here in the New Player Help section to start learning strategy and UI basics. Then look on the forum to find out the good Trial mech.
After you've done that, then click Launch in the top right corner of the main window. That will drop you in your first PickUp Group (PUG). Or you could read the thread on grouping (also stickied) to learn how to use TeamSpeak or other voice comms, which can help a lot.
Edit: Remove recommendation of Hunchback as best current trial mech, as the trial mechs have been changed.

Well.. that's very vague to start..
1) Did you download the client? (big blue button in the top right corner of the website)
2) Did you run the client, and let it download the game files and install them?
3) Load the client and click the PLAY button.
4) Enter you username and password
5) Click Mechlab, or choose from the 4 Trial mechs in the bottom left corner,
6) After selecting a mech you want to pilot, click LAUNCH in the top right corner.
7) Happy hunting

And also, just to be safe, if things aren't working as stated above, try running the repair tool in case something got buggy
http://patcher.mwome...ORepairTool.exe
Good luck with resolution.
