AWS-8Q Stock
3 PPC : 1 SL,
28 SHS : 42% cooling efficiency (= 16DHS)
STD 240 engine 48.6 kph
STK-3F 4PPC
you can easily make variations but this is a simple one.
4 PPC
21 DHS : 44% cooling efficiency (= 35 SHS)
STD 275 engine 52.4 kph
So yes the 3 PPC awesome is one of the best stock mechs that much is true and it is far better than some others.
However it is outright bad compared to MANY min/maxed builds out there. Not only does it have worse weapons, engine, heat. but it also is the size of a large barn and has to fully reveal itself to shoot anything.
Would it and some other mechs stomp newbies still, yes. But only half as fast or as badly as they presently get stomped, and since most people min/maxing will be playing the other version where that style is better you will likely not see a problem with too much stuff like this anyway.

In the very least, they need to expedite lobbies and provide a stock-only option for them.
I like the lobby idea myself. But looking at it from PGI's point of view, lobbies could be counter productive to CW as it will allow 3rd party leagues to run seamlessly which could possibly seriously detract from CW. I fully expect PGI to implement them in a way that CW wont be over shadowed by 3rd party leagues. Possibly keeping 3rd party leagues some what hamstrung as they are now.

This is an awful idea. Why not have both?
And apparently 90% of this forum are idiots that actually think a custom loadout is why they are crushing noobs rather than the differences in skill.
Seriously, make a new account, play a few matches. Even in (most) trial mechs you'll slaughter everyone wholesale.

No better skilled players will still slaughter most new players, that is obvious. HOWEVER they will not slaughter them nearly as quickly or easily. Right now a really good player might be able to kill 4-6 new players on their own. If everyone was using stock mechs instead of only the new player, then they would likely only be able to kill 2-4 on their own. Right now new players have both a skill and an equipment handicap and both are huge. If they only had the skill handicap but similar quality equipment then at least they would have a chance.
