I can handle the forum logs me out at odd times. i can handle using the jokingly referred to "search" feature and the first results are always, at least a year old.
I mean searching for "disconnects" the FIRST five or so results are from last year. Surely disconnect has been used in the last month?

anyhow. A quick game, maybe run a hero mech, or run my premium time, or convert xp to gxp..what? I'm a payer to expects results? Ludicrous.
I even blurred the names cause I'm sure they would all be horribly offended if they got named.
this has been happening more....and more........first, it was one, last couple of days one or two. 3 out of 5 games according to the notes I'm looking at. last 24 hours 4 in 5 games with 1 in 5 having multiple* (*thats more than one for the developers) disco's.

pgi, I see a "we're hiring" link at the bottom. Perphaps you need to quit hiring from the shallow end of the pool? Its very frustrating. Been here 7 months, love the new maps, love the new mechs, love doing the game with my pals on comms....perhaps take my sig to heart.

Let me brilliantly interject, I see the common suggestion is update my graphics card drivers. I did.
speed test tells me the IPS and my computer have an average of just under 1% packet loss, other games, my work (I'm with the NSA) run flawlessly.
I have: Position Your Router, its so close I can smell it. and I do, often.
I have: Replace your Antenna, I did, got a replica of the Tower Array off ebay
I have: Upgrade Firmware- yup, I even disabled all security, and got rid of the password, and renamed it "free wifi"
I was going to get a repeater/booster, but the guy at the gas station says he can easily get the signal.
I'm going out on an accusatory limb here, cause I know the typical ***** always blames, well...YOU.
is it possible, however unliklely, the fork up is on your forking side? I'm just forking asking cause its getting forking maddening.

Well, the first question would of course still be: Do you encounter Internet problems with other games or applications?

I gotta say, I play at least 2-3 hours a day lately (often more) always with 3-4 friends and disconnects are not an issue anymore (at least for us). I also see very few disconnects from the other people I play with, it's a full 8vs8 about 99% of the time.

You can check your upload and download bandwidth by googling "bandwidth test" or something like that and check out the results.

You said that you double checked and improved the connections from your PC to your router but there can also be a bunch of issues in the connection between you router and the actual cable network of your internet provider. Considering your 74 ping I guess you play from somewhere in the USA or Canada and I don't know much about wiring in these areas. But at least in Europe a lot of buildings don't have proper wiring (old copper wires for exapmle) which can drastically degrade the quality of your internet connection.

The game itself had a lot of connection issues back in the day, but at least for me (and all the people I play with) they are mostly gone.

Not sure how my internet connection, no matter how crappy, or good, explains others disconnects?
Did that screenshot I took not show correctly?
I RARELY get kicked from the game-once every four or five days. Sometimes it shuts down, crashes to desktop, but my pals on comms say I'm still connected walking into a wall etc.

I hate that my starting posts here revolve around technical issues ... but hopefully feedback is utilized/valuable around here.

I'm in Vegas, have been playing the game for about a month now. The last 3 weeks I've had zero crashes, zero disconnects. I'm on a 25MB cable, and average 21MB down and up to 15MB or so up. My ping is normally between 70-90ms. This is to your servers or my dedicateds on the east coast with XL and Hypernia both (ie.. it's all the same, all the time).

Over the last couple days I have been disconnected a couple dozen times. Also seeing an insane number of others disconnecting (saw 3 discos several times yesterday). I've enjoyed the game so much thus far, that I've invested the time to tracert/ping test various locations around North America to see if perhaps its just network congestion. But alas, it's all normal. And everything else in my array of daily taskings, many of which revolve around these types of things are normal.

I'll claim to know nothing, but it certainly seems to me the issue is on your (the devs) side of the fence currently.

I hope it's not like this for everyone, it's been a very mixed experience for me since finally jumping in to check stuff out. But only because of the last couple days. Which is significant enough, to warrant the investment in this post and all the checking around. And frankly, leaves me thinking/feeling things I doubt any business want's their customers thinking/feeling.

Which is not to flame, but rather convey honestly my personal scenario. Really been a blast playing though, looking forward to much more in the future. The assumption being I can stay connected to the servers. :)

Normally my ping is 28-32, so I'm a bit closer. Not sure where the servers are.

I agree, there shouldn't be any disconnects this late into beta. I mean come on, nearly 2 years of beta (both open and closed) and this hasn't been fixed yet?

Also, why am I getting matched up with people who continually score sub 100 points every match? I've sent PGI the screenshots from 10 recent games and I get a response telling me that their data is far superior to anything I could ever bring to their attention.

Simply put, ELO is broken, they won't take ideas about fixing it, and disconnects make it all the worse.

OMGWTFBBQ did you see the NEW mechs!?!?!??1!! THEY ARE AWESOME!1!!!

It sure seems like a boss I used to work when the equipment kept braking down. One time we came back after a long weekend and he had painted the biggest POS we had in the fleet. Nothing else. new paint....it needed a jump to move it
but we have new real money mechs, and new real money packages with new promises of awesomeness.
Just had two disconnects. Thankfully they were on the other side and we f'ing rolled them-
all noobs, one a time what was left rushed over the edge of the cauldron
we call it seal clubbing over at world of tanks.

As far as i´m concerned, the DC issue is their fix for lag. Ppl with slow connection just get a timeout. At least this is what i´m expecting atm. The game is unplayable for me ( 120kb max downstream ), as i just get a kick to mechlab as soon as the Startup sequence of the mech has finished.

I get DC'd about 15-20% of the time. I put it down to distance as I am in Asia cause I am on 500mb fiber with speed tests around 150mb down and 70mb up. I stopped playing for a while and came back after the patch, same DC rate but more shiny stuff to buy which seems to be a trend. I still have 20k MC which I haven't used in months. Not sure its worthwhile buying the phoenix package either as they don't seem to be in any hurry to fix the things that matter to me...hit detection, disconnects, weapons convergence.

I have actually been able to play without crashing to desktop for about 2 weeks. As of today every single game I load into, I crash out. ****'s getting real old real fast.
