Very much like your design Bishop. I still prefer the top torso weapon in the center but then it likely just creates more issues and **** retention. Were there legal issues with the MAD II ?

Yup. MAD-II was just a Robotech Officers Pod after too many trips to the buffet.

Also remember, an AC5 cannot FIT in the Center Torso. The weapon was always RT mounted, even if the licensed art was CT.
The MAD-3D (Large Laser) on the other hand, could use it just fine. But one other consideration..... having a gun barrel DIRECTLY over your ejection seat seems..... problematic.

Haha very good point about the ejection. One of the features of the Marauder was that it was meant to be intimidating and instill fear with its appearance on the battlefield. I think your design achieves that. Well heres hoping.....it would be brilliant if your designs are incorporated into the game ( The Warhammer rocks as well but perhaps taller ? ) Has there been any interest in the Rifleman ?

Haha yeah chuck a Marauder and Warhammer on the field with a Rifleman in tow and a scout Locust...maybe even a crusader. Gets me excited ! Think I've read too many Battletech novels over the years lol

The MAD is my *as well as others surely* all time fave mech.... *cough* next to the TW *cough* ... and I would love to be piloting one of those designs. They look fantastic and keep the feel of the MAD but look far enough removed from the unseen that I can't see any sane person bringing any comparison that isn't a bit geek on the subject lol

Like the shrouded one, more in line with what a marauder should be imo.

Also love the little dalek you put on the left shoulder.

Moving the ac/5 to the right torso was a great idea, but it just seems inferior to the original design for some reason......
It was mainly the extra joint in the legs that i dont like. And the reverse ppcs and medium lasers.

@Bishop's Rifleman: Dat ting is looking mighty hidieous! Maybe adjust the arm mounts to look more like original then its fine.

From the v2 both look appealing. The one with the large canopy is more a MWO approach while the 2nd one fits nicely into TT canon.

But to be honest. The PPCs must be the upper weapons in the arm pods. The other way around i just don't fits in my eyes.

and V2 with the Canopy Shroud, which I prefer (especially since the fluff talks about the obscured field of view in a Marauders cockpit)

Thoughts?

Acceptable. B) Not sure if it's "too close" to the original having the cyclopean head, but it just feels more iconic. Kinda like the battlemaster dome. The phanlax system is a nice touch.

Really nice job Bishop! I've always felt the marauder's artwork didn't fit in with the rest of the mechs because of it's alien origin in Macross/robotech. I feel like this actually fits in the Battletech universe and I'm having a hard time deciding between the canopy/shroud as my favorite of your V2. Keep up the Good work and hopefully PGI can use this!

Really liking the V2. When I suggested the hybrid cockpit I was thing that little area you have lined off on the top and front. The part with what looks like a sensor blister on it. Just so the pilot can see where they are going, but still have the limited vision to the sides.

But I admitt I like the Shimmering Sword style cockpit you have done better, but I am a bit biased toward more cockpit like assemblies than the armored box with a forward viewport of many of the Macross style designs.

I dig the v2 drawings.

While I like a nice wide-open FOV (who doesn't?) I kinda like the look of the shrouded cockpit version, especially if it made the cockpit hard to hit in the game.

Great as always Bishop! I like the v2, it captures the feel of the orginal MAD but looks different too.

I'm much more of a Robotech fan actually, and I'm a little protective about Macross mecha being roughly stuffed into Battletech universe. Original mecha called Marauder in BT was an officer's fighting pod for a 50 feet tall zentraedi, so I can not be more supportive about redesigning it inside of a battletech. Your version definitely belongs to a battletech. It looks different and much more like a war machine for normal sized humans. Great job, man!
