A lot of people are complaining that they miss brawling, but in order to have brawling you also need the ability to survive a beating for a long time. Now lights are able to get away with low armor by having a small hit box and high speed making it hard for most mechs to hit them.

But for everyone else it is all about hiding most of the time and when you do engage push out high damage in a very short time frame and hide again. As long as armor can be stripped away so fast, then people will continue playing the hiding game because that is what works.

Most people will use weapons that can get the job done, if it does not perform to a certain standard then people do not use them. Just look at the streaks they used to be great to deal with lights for the assault classes, but for a while now they have become useless because they can not get the job done and protect an assault from a light.

Just look at the jag 40 a great mech to dish out a lot of damage fast at a very close range, but it also has paper armor which is fine since it can dish out damage faster then it takes it

Damage is king, agility is queen and armor is far down the list, but in order to change the game to a brawling type battle then either armor or agility needs to become king.
