Lol. Kay. Realism* sucks doesn't it. I didn't like that i could walk up a 60 degree hill with no issue or slow down.. It need a few tweaks, but its not too bad.

*Realism applied to 8 story metal walking death machines.

So you argue that it is good because it's realistic and then invalidate yourself. Fact is if your tried to take a step in a mech you would end up staring at the floor, because your actuators would be paste.

I think the problem is they didn't rework the maps themselves just went over it with the 'you can't go here brush' and it's a royal pain.
Look at Upper in River City from the close spawn - you fall off the bridge and you are screwed except for a tiny somewhat hard to use path way to the left of the bridge that puts your back to the Op4. Canyon - you at least could tell before where you could climb now you can't reliably.
It's fine to fix/adjust the climbing areas but at least look at the consequences/issues of the change before you put it in the patch.

This. And they won't fix it because they are incompetent. They knew this when they were testing and they still decided to go ahead BEFORE first reworking the maps.

Yeah.. It's pretty annoying.
Makes you a lot more vulnerable in many positions due to not being able to climb up certain spots.

The amount of restriction of movement in assault class mechs is asinine. I used to enjoy running all classes of mechs, but running a assaults (including my Misery that I bought with a RL$s) is practicly unuseable on many of the maps, and I am not the only one who feels that way. How often do we see now peolple in assault mechs disco-ing at the begining of matches on Alpine or Canyon? Ofcourse you would encounter a loss of speed, and cant go some of the places a lighter can, but are you kidding?

I prefer the new system as it, like others have mentioned, makes you really consider how you're going to position yourself and makes the terrain in the maps more meaning full as opposed to simply being blocks to line of sight. If people spent more time learning how to maneuver, which they should be, there would be less complaining. Of course, this change does further necessitate some form of in game voice communication for PUGs, but still I want this to stay, with maybe some minor tweakage.

Anything that benefits the use of good tactics is great to have, and this is exactly what this change did.
