its nice to play MWO with your friends on comms, but thats not always possible. in these extreme cases, one is forced to PuG, which can be a harrowing experience, especially with new players who don't quite understand the mechanics of the game. i want to help out so i compiled a list of must knows for players, not that ive been playing that long myself, but i'm a fast study.

1. jenners, spiders, commandos, and ravens are only priority targets if every mech on the opposing team is one, or you find yourself surrounded by 3 or 4 of them.

2. if you are driving a heavy or an assault and are chasing a jenner, spider, commando,or raven and it is not the last mech in the game, then cease immediately and find an appropriate target.

3.conquest games require you to capture resource points in order to win, if your not cappin' or killin', then your taking up space another player who is not afraid to play the game could have used.

4.if most players on oppsing team have lrms, you can not win by hiding 700 to 900 meters out. you must get close and engage.

5.when you are the last man on your team and have absolutely no chance in winning, don't run and evade, take that opportunity to improve your skills by engaging the superior forces. you might die, but if you don't shoot your weapons, you can't become a better player.

6.number 6 is very important so pay close attention, if you die, you don't die for real, so don;t be scared got out there and challenge somone. piranha is going to make starter sets available for those player whose testies haven't quite decended yet, so take full advantage.

well i hope this helps a little, feel free to add your own tidbits of wisdom to this post and have fun. remeber always, you don't die for real;.

On number 5: I'd add the caveat that sometimes you can cap out a stupid or slow team; if not, don't head-on engage, try to isolate one or two and engage them rather than a kamikaze charge at their whole team. Other than that, pretty nice write-up.

I would add...

you must get close and engage "while using Cover" If you are good at using cover for advancing, LRMs are not such an Problem.

My commendations to points 1 to 3.
Charging in an LRM barrage is not allways the best option especialy if there is no way to get to the enemy under cover so be sure to move along steep cliffs or high buildings towards the enemy. And with along I mean HEAD DOWN. If there isn't any option to do this show your head then vanish and ceep moving LRM volleys are limited. Ammunition and stuff you see?
Though most players are either too stupid or too impatient to simply weather the storm and rather get themselfes killed then turning up in this forum and do an other "mimimi Q|Q LRMs are overpowered" thread.
The rest is to be taken with even greater caution.
Some people WILL want to win through killing all enemys at any costs. So take your sweet time to see if you could crawl to their base while they are furiously searching you. No need to get sloughtered senselessly.
Remember team members who are calling your name and position in open chat because they already got themeselves killed because they are reckless naps are to be reported to support for breaking code of conduct.
The devs made it VERY VERY clear that this kind of behavior isn't to be tollerated one bit.
So don't accept any threads or indignitys from guys who rather should play CS where you can simply run around getting killed over and over again.
