It is my opinion that a 50+ Mech Jump-Jetting and landing on a slope should undergo, at least a mech stumbling upon landing. But, my main point of this thread is the small things, outside Weapons their use Damage, Heat, and Recycle time in this thread.
Small additions that could help balance the game for the better.

My Suggestions are Three to start of with:

1) Increased Cockpit Shake for Jump-Jetting Mechs
2) Toggle for Tag,
3) Increased Ready Screen Time for 5+ <10 people Lances

My Other ideas of which, I have not expanded.

4) Mech Stumble.
5) Increased Cockpit Shake for Walking-Running Mechs
6) Lance starting positions

For my first Idea.

1) Increased Cockpit Shake for Jump-Jetting Mechs. This part should be relatively simple. You are using giant rockets to propel a 50+ tons into a General Direction. PGI did a good thing by making Cockpit Shake based off of Weight. However, it should still be a bit more severe. This next upcoming patch, I am hoping they increase the cockpit shake for mechs WITHOUT Improved Gyro Module. It is far in the future. I am sure a society that can build robots can find a way for a computer calculate auto-balance and mech weight and gravity and velocity. However, I do not necessarily believe pop-tarting is the perfect meta, because if you Expose your mech to use your torso weapons you're exposing your mech to the whole Enemy team. I just today killed a Timberwolf trying to poptart using my Gauss Hunchback. No offense to whom ever that was. It has it's risk. But, you're using thrusters in a Sudden Jerking motion, and the Gyros are vibrating, it should be hard for the pilot to aim, considering Apollo 13 Pilots where Shaking like Crazy in their Giant thruster of a Rocket.

2) This one is Simple, most arguments have already been made for this. It would help with pilots trying to spot for Missile Mechs. It would also help give the Spotter credit spotting. I myself had a couple times where I missed spotting assists because I did not properly use it for the whole duration.

3) The Ready Screen for 5+ players is frustrating right now. Me and my team are trying to help do Lance Unit Tactics, but the game starts whether one team is ready or not. Because, game Start is based off the players as a whole pushing the ready screen. I believe it should be based of off Percentages of both teams. That way one team is not punished by having their teams arrive late to the party. Just because some one's internet is not ideal.

These other Ideas are Brainstorms. I have just thought about them, and have not given them consideration. Please feel free to give your input on the matter.

4) Mech Stumble
Similar to falling or Centering your Legs to your Torso. Your mech Re-positions its legs in order to minimize damage. Reasons for this could be: Bumping into a smaller mech. Jump-Jetting and landing on a very step slope. Or in the case that most annoys me. A Dire Wolf walking on a tiny Sharp pinnacle with it's legs magically straddling the mountain top. Point and Case, Caustic Valley. Mechs walking on sharp points should stumble, but not fall onto one side or the other, if they have a wide leg set, or are beyond a certain weight. Personally, I would make them fall, if they did not have the Improved Gyro Module. Stumbling, would cause the mech to force halt it's movement for moment, Stomp Stomp in place for half a second or so. The reason being that the pilot is trying regain balance. I mean they are landing in a giant steel Automaton. The Vibrations through landing the mech alone would shake the pilot almost out of their shoulder straps. IT MIGHT even HURT the pilot, just landing the mech wrong. Your Head would certainly snap up down due to inertia.

5) Increased Cockpit Shake for Mech Movement
This has been implemented before and was so severe at first that everyone complained about sea-sickness. I too admit that it was ridiculous to pilot a Commando or a Jenner due to the shaking. However, it should not be such a smooth ride for EVERY mech. It should very from Mech to Mech.
Why is it good?
Because, instead of nerfing pin point Damage, and blaming everything on convergence. All PGI would have to do is increase Cockpit shake for mech movement and it would make Aiming, much harder than it is now. Less stable mechs would be punished while lighter mech such as Medium mechs and Light Mechs would have less weight and inertia throwing off their own Aim. Instead of making fictitious numbers and hurting Convergence which hurts player skill and starts turning MWO into a DICE game. It would actually PROLONG Combat by making everyone harder to hit. It would also down play alot of the Heavier Mechs that have really awkward walking gaits. It would also add to Mech variety. So instead of nerfing weapons or increasing armor, or increasing heat. By increasing walking Cockpit shake little by little, we can get a balance of hurting pin point Damage, but not Punishing player Skill.

6) Lance Starting positions.
Lance Starting positions should be chosen by the player Commander. Maybe not for 4-Mans but it would definitely add meaning to being Commander. PUGS would be forced to acknowledge the Commanders presence and forced to communicate their desires. Instead of doing the typical PUG, "I DO WHAT I WANT " Attitude, and then "MY TEAM SUCKS" because they died alone in a corner. It would also add strategic fun to the battle. While this sounds Amazing, I am sure it would be susceptible to grief-ing, but hey, What game is not? It would also make the game more fun, by not wasting valuable time walking across half of the map to regroup with your friends. Forking-over the best positions to people who just want to Pop-tart in their Timberwolves with perfect Ballerina balance.
