Hi there,

im relatively new to this game, only played Catapults (bought and played 3 different Chasis to unluck more so far)! Now i wanna buy und try my 4th mech - so this ist my idea:

Im tired of beeing relatively slow in my catapult, but on the other side i dont like the idea of sitting in small mech, which can be shot down by only 1 lucky-hitting sniper-alphastrike :-) Also im not quite a fan of lasers, as long they play a suppurtive-role ("Meeedium laaaaser" :-D) theyre okay. My dream is a Huntermech, which is a massive thread in close combat to every lighter mech trying to hunt me :-) (Revenge is mine @ all those spiders, cicadas, commando and jennars :-D )

My conclusion is buying the Dragon 1N - here are 2 builds für beeing a massive thread in close combat! Not only i think that with these builds small mechs can be killed, also the DMG AND the speed of my mech should be good enough to engage those bigger mechs AFTER the smaller ones have been killed.

In this Build the dps comes mainly from 2 Ac/2 (only 1 medium laser)

this Build replaced the 2 Ac/2 whith she "shotgun" ... (2 medium lasers)
http://mechromancer....1,1,1,0,0,0,0,0

So my question is: Does this make sense at all? Which build is better? Any suggestions to make the builds better?

Unless you have very good aim, AC/2s aren't what I'd consider good Light-hunting weapons - you'll just end up chewing up the countryside with stray rounds. The second build might be more interesting with its extra laser and the more forgiving LBX. The SSRMs are your real workhorse when hunting Lights, though, and BAP is a good addition in case of ECM. Lasers with their zero travel time are also not to be sniffed at!

Both good armarment but the version with lbx is better for hitting fast lights mechs in my opinion.

I'm not a Dragon (or fast-heavy / light-hunter) pilot by any means, but maybe you could try this build:

LBX, 2 SSRM2 and 2 MPL: http://mechromancer....1,0,1,0,0,0,0,0
It's almost the same as your second build, except with a 350 XL, upgrade to pulse lasers and I moved your ammo to your legs :D

For light hunting definitely pulse lasers and streaks. You could also try this http://mwo.smurfy-ne...12b528af2fdbc42

Give it streaks, BAP, and an XL engine (everybody shoots your CT anyway). Put a laser and a shotgun in the arms. Like so. Switch to PPCs and Gauss or 2 AC2s as your aim improves. You want better range and damage vs bigger targets.

Here's my loadout. Not the best damage-dealer, but for hunting lights it's pretty good. Similar to Xione87's but without BAP, with 340XL and srm4 instead of ssrm. DRG-1N

And with the new LBX-Sound it's even more fun than before. :D
