ERLLaz are great for raking up damage out of sight, they are cooler than PPC and you can maintain DPS.

I did over 2100 damage in a match during LURMpocalypse and managed 1800-1900 several times. Those 3 days were fun in their own way.

Also managed 7 kills 1 assist in an Awesome 8Q way, way back in the day. 3 of the kills were headshots. Best I've managed in 12-vs-12 is 7 kills 5 assists, or around 1200 damage (different matches).

It worked fairly well in lower ELO games and/or as a support mech when we were already winning. Being able to plink away with the LL from relative safety helped a lot, but when getting overrun the mech is too fragile to take enough hits to really brawl. I've since switched it to a short-ish range LRM poptart build.

To be honest, I'd caution about celebrating super high damage numbers a lot of the time. Sometimes doing 1200+ damage means you need to aim a little more carefully. You win the match by killing the enemy, not disassembling them (although it is fun to disassemble them too.)

Highest damage I think I ever got was in my Highlander 732 brawling build. This was months ago and srm's were already nerfed. I got 1480 dmg and like 7 kills and some assists.

Best I have done is 1250 damage, 8 kills and 3 assists with a match score of 158. I have the screenie but to lazy to upload atm. Was on frozen city with my cat a1 with 2 lrm 10s and 4 streaks.

The trouble is with the Dmg report wich mostly show the Damage caused.

Any match you get a couple of Side torsos plus the fresh arms ripped from any assault your dmg magically pops up to the order of 300-400 ish when those torsos wouldn't account for more than 200 dmg top. Add the fact a large part of ppl like to carry XL one of the most common tactics it's go for the ST to check if XL (when it's doable or faster than CT like Jagers) if not finish the CT.

Killing a mech is more important than how much damage you scored from killing it.


Example:
Earning 200 points from killing an Atlas versus earning 500 points from killing an Atlas

A 200 point kill cost you less time, less heat and less ammo to kill the Atlas.

Core the CT, its got the creamy filling all mechs crave.

This past thursday night I had the best game I've ever had ...in a SDR-5D. I ran it with two ER Large lasers, two JJ, and an XL 245 engine. For context, in 2200 drops, I've scored over 1000 once (this game), over 900 once, over 700 twice. Piloting the locust has made me better at piloting the other light mechs.

Most of the time I average between 225 and 325 with this Spider loadout. Many variables worked out perfectly in this game for it work out like it did.

Course, most of the decently high scores are in 733Cs and Victors, but everyone has that. Disappointed I don't have a better Blackjack one.

Even with the two 1000+ dmg wasn't enough to win though. That's what always hurts the most.

Well you better have me crucified for thinking doing 1375 damage and losing, or going 8 for 8 kills, was still sort of interesting. This community is just appalling. Let me get a spoon and scoop this one out from the bottom of the peanut butter jar for you to offer some more criticism as well:





I'll post some recent ones just like everyone else. Not as interesting, but if you post 8v8s on here it obviously means you can't do over 1000 damage anymore or something.
