to keep things simple i will only talk about the large laser.
the LL has a cool down of 3.25s and a duration of 1.00s but the cool down only starts after the laser cycle has ended. does this not put the true cool down closer to 4.25s? unless the cool down has already factor this in then i am mistaken.
i feel that lasers are currently less effective due to a combination of the duration and the cool down. 4.25s is a very long time to put out 9 damage over 1 second compared to 10 damage every 4.00s of the ppc. not to mention effective range or pinpoint damage is not a factor yet.
help me understand the dps of lasers please. i feel the dps of lasers are too low atm, factor in the spread the weapon barely scratches the surface of a mech.

Lasers are fine. Current hitreg is not.
The only regular laser that I think needs some love is the ER Large... but that's it.

OP is right. Lasers are a high-skill weapon with a relatively low reward due to that damage being spread over a full second. They could use some help with a bit lower heat.

Lower cooldown is what I suggest. Pulse Lasers especially need to have much lower beam duration to make it unique enough from regular lasers.

quick pros and cons list
average lasers
pro:
-less heat then ppc. (this is debateable eg. two med lasers have same heat as a ppc now)
-less weight
-less slots
-no travel time (current projectile speeds are so fast that this is hardly a pro)
cons:
-fire duration (high chance of damage spread)
-less range
-less effective range
-long cool down
-less damage
-less dps
-zero impact effects.
either ppc do not have enough draw backs or lasers are way too similar with rewards that do not translate into dps.
side note: the ac10 is under powered for starters the projectile speed is way too low since everything else got a buff in that department.
