A much better build than the stock loadout. Standard engine, no useless pulse weapons, plenty of ammo, speed upgrade, ams.

KTO-18 - http://mwo.smurfy-ne...b20414b7b70aec2
5srm4s pack its main punch and will pack it well. Again standard engine, ams, respectable speed, very respectable damage.

KTO-20 - http://mwo.smurfy-ne...2675ee2528bef97
Same brawler loadout that many CN9-ALs fit but at 115kph. XL engine is a sad thing but you make up for it with the speed of a light mech. Good punch especially for moving at that speed and ams and plenty of ammo.

Pretty much my thought.
Why run a standard engine when your sides are the hardest thing to hit after the cockpit?

Just being curious: Why do you regard pulse lasers as useless?

Pulse lasers have a much shorter range, they generate alot more heat, those two things together make them harder to use.

Because i dont find the extra ton of weight to be worth 1 point of damage. LGPL are even worse. The short range and raised heat make them even worse. The fast delivery doesnt help because i can easily keep on target.

i prefer pulse lasers (small and medium only) on my faster mechs since i'm one of those who has trouble keeping the regular lasers all hitting one spot when moving at higher speeds. pulse lasers make it a bit easier to get the damage in all the same location and i usually run brawlers anyway so the range factor isn't usually an issue. only time i run them on bigger mechs is as backup weapons and i'm i'm heat efficent enough the extra heat won't really matter.
